Can I microwave my ejuice to speed up steeping?

It's four in the morning where I am and my 3 year old monkey (umm, son) just woke up!! Gotta take him back to bed or else I'll end up with the samurai version of my wife. Of course you can imagine the rest with an unhappy samurai girl in the scene, and I'm sure you don't want me to stop posting about this lovely topic just yet! :D

I have a 3 year old too!

Hi VapeLuvr! Hope you tried out nuking your juice! Got news for me? :)

Hey there, bigdaddi! Hope you got lots of sleep after going to bed so late.
I think I didn't do it long enough. I did 2 sets of 5 seconds and didn't really notice a difference. I think I'll try for 10 seconds at a time. I'm also thinking I'll try a custard today as those typically take the longest time to steep. Mine was a fruit blend last night.
By the way, your English is excellent![emoji4]

Why thank you very much! Wait till you hear the accent. I blame Sesame Street for that if you ask me [emoji51]

I slept well thanks for asking :) hope you did too! And how's your little one doing? Poor little monkey of mine had an eye infection just yesterday and now his left eye is half shut and he thinks it's fun :) I try to make the best out of how he looks so we're playing zombie now and decided for our samurai woman to be the victim [emoji16] I've hidden the broom so no worries about the presence of her samurai sword [emoji1360]

So on nuking the juice, you see what's yet to be proved to me is whether getting it warm is good enough, or if it really must reach the point where smoke starts coming out of the bottle per Visus' method.

I've watched a video on YouTube using the MW method however a bit differently though :-
- shorter bursts with cap on (5 seconds if I remember. Will post the video after this one)
- good shake right after
- throw in the freezer right after (with cap still on, and keep in the freezer for 2 minutes)
- repeat 4 times
- last time instead of throwing it in the freezer, just rest it aside (on the shelf) until it cools down.

Will post 2 videos that I found about that different MW method with shorter bursts and a freezer involved.

I'm curious, why leave the cap on?

IMHO, and considering the fact that flavors are made of VOC, I guess the trick here is to keep the VOC trapped in when warming up the mix using short bursts. Notice that the rest of the process involves shaking (hence the blending on a molecular level while the juice is warm and the VOC still trapped inside) and then the freezer to quickly bring those blended molecules well bonded when the juice's temperature is down to room temperature (hence the 2 minute period of time in the freezer, which sometimes might go up one more minute per my experience). That's how I interpreted all the reading I've done about this particular topic (i.e. cap on and freezer).

Here are the videos:

My very first attempt using the MW method was by following the videos above, but instead of shaking the liquid I used a milk frother, but didn't turn the mix to a foamy condition, and instead I just made sure it's very well shook with lots of bubble inside before putting the cap back on and throwing it in the freezer.

Oh, oops, I thought one of them was you!! My mistake!

What's VOC?

"Volatile organic compounds (VOC) means any compound of carbon, excluding carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, carbonic acid, metallic carbides or carbonates, and ammonium carbonate, which participates in atmospheric photochemical reactions."

A very nice high level description of that can be found in this video (jump to 17:30 and watch for a few minutes):

Hi IDJoel. Sorry for not being able to reply earlier as I've been too busy with work lately. Actually there isn't any point to this. Just figuring out if it was just me who finds the taste of the liquid to be better. I believe it's worth mentioning though that the massive difference (to the better) in taste that I found was when vaping on a DTL RTA as if it's a MTL one using one particular max. VG juice only. I've tried the 50/50 blend of the same juice from the same vendor but found the overall flavor to be a bit too intense for me. Maybe with the same characteristics of the overall taste but very intense to an unacceptable level for me.
No apologies necessary.:D I completely understand that folks have lives beyond ECF. And sometimes theose lives even take priority over ECF!:lol::lol::lol:

What you appear to be describing is not unusual. Many vapers find high VG levels "mute" the flavor (compared to lower VG levels). Some compensate by adding additional flavoring. Others feel that just additional time to age is sufficient to allow the same amount of flavorings to fully blend.

You may notice some will include what PG/VG ratio they are using when they share a recipe. This, allows those who choose to do so, to adjust the overall recipe strength to suit their own base preferences.
I'm actually thinking of posting a separate thread about that!
That would probably be the polite thing to do; so we stay on the microwave topic.:D

Oh I'm staying on the MW topic alright! I'm probably going to nuke some juice tonight! :)

Awesome, I know I can expect a full report from you![emoji4]

I sure will :)

I've got a little problem though,, I ran out of one of the flavors used in my recipe and almost out of juice as well,, so I'll probably replace it with another flavor although I'm not very optimistic about the outcome as I didn't like the single flavor of the replacement that much. Let's see how that goes!

I would not recommend direct microwaving.

Nuke a cup of water and then let the bottle sit in it. Do this several times if you wish.
Or at the very least, put a cup of water in with the ejuice bottle to absorb some of the excess power. You're not supposed to run them that close to empty anyway.

Myself, I just wait the 20 minutes to 2 days before my juices are decent. Those that use stronger flavoring levels may take longer. I have left the bottles on top of the oven range a while and of course heat happens in the summer to anything that doesn't stay at home.
