Can I run a Passthrough on my PlayStation 3?

Will it fry my ps3?
I believe they are standard USB 2.0 ports so my guess is no dice.. but still would like to confirm.

It depends, for a regular battery type passthru, it should be fine. Definitely not for a direct 5V passthru. Though generally speaking, it's not worth using an expensive device as a power supply since a fault in the passthru could damage or destroy it. You can get wall adpaters cheap. For battery passthrus, you can get a wall adapter for $4 here and for battery-less passthrus, you can get a high output adapter for $9 here.

I charge my stuff exclusively on my 360...as for pass thrus...I wouldnt know.
