There is a very specific reason for this question. I want to use micros for testing my juices.
Been wrapping coils for a while with Genesis style (Aga, Cobra clone, Steamboy, Steamturbine, and have some Krakens coming in) and have 30, 32, 34, &36 g resistance wire as well as cotton, Ekowool, and silica rope in various sizes as well as doing BC's and Eternity's for when I am moving about, so I am not totally inexperienced. None of these devices is suited for testing a lot of different juices, so I use regular atty's with drip tips.
I do not like a terribly hot vape or high throat hit, and my devices are all VV/VW from ProVari to MVP which mostly max out at 15 w; I seldom go above 10-12 w. There is a 14500 Ti mechanical mod at the bottom of my drawer that looks at me forlornly once in a while and begging me to use it, but that little battery would probably start screaming so loudly at the idea of sub ohm vaping that it could be construed as rape.
When testing juice mixtures, I try one combination and toss the atty into a hot US bath with bicarbonate of soda, empty the bath, do another bath, and then a another with clean water. Bit of a pain to get the taste out, and it is time consuming. Also, my supply of regular atty's is dwindling rapidly.
I saw these nifty RDA's on the Slowtech site, and they are only around $5-about the same price as a regular 510/306 atty. These seem to have plenty of room for an easy rebuild, my idea was to dump the coil/wick, rinse with water, and replace with a fresh wick/wire.
Micro coils with something like cotton would be appealing, because then all I would have to do is pull the wick, do a burn without wick, rinse, slide a fresh wick in, prime and test my juice.
Can I get a decent micro coil to work at over 2 ohms? Do I have to take long, deep vapes to get the coil to heat up sufficiently or will it work more or less like a regular wick and coil?
Thanks for your help!
