Can modern MOD units get above 450 F degrees in power mode?

I never wanted to create big clouds. 10 watts is plenty for my vaping style. The vape is the most like a cigarette and that's all I wanted to replicate.

I used to go to vape meets at the local Stormy's Vapor Cellar. You could barely see across the room when there were many vapers present. Once, when I walked into the store a thick cloud of vapor appeared in front of me from someone sitting at a table across the room and I stopped until it faded.

Most vape shops in my area are the same way. They used to be nice and friendly and helpful, especially the one in Laguna Beach where the SoCal ECFers used to congregate--years ago. Now most of them seem to be catering to the cloud chucking crowd, so I don't feel like I belong any more.

I've never been completely sure that vaping is 95% safe, although it's definitely safer compared to smoking cigarettes. 10 years out from quitting cigs and beginning to vape my lungs cleared up in my first year of vaping and I'm more like I was before I ever smoked, even considering that I'm retired and a senior citizen. I smoked for about 3 decades before quitting and starting to vape.

I chose MTL vaping because it was most like smoking cigarettes. Huge clouds are cool, but not necessary for my vaping satisfaction. I try to only inhale just into the throat and then exhale. I still wonder how good or bad vaping is for those who inhale deeply, but apparently it's not a problem. We haven't heard much of anything about specific concerns associated with vaping, aside from anti-vaping types who claim it's just like smoking and they want it gone.

Ditto. I try to reduce harm, so I've always vaped defensively; low wattage, MTL, mostly unflavored (or a touch of DIY flavoring, I use FA because I know they use diketones)--the smallest caliber that will do the job. :D

I used to vape that way. But I had to vape 18mg or higher. Then I started thinking that those who DL only usually vape like 6mg or less. So I tried it. And it is a bit tough at first as your body isn't use to it. But you get over it quickly and it becomes natural. And you really don't really need high levels of nicotine anymore either.

Clouds? Yeah not really into them. I vape DL at low power and not so airy for the flavor and nicotine. So I really don't produce clouds. But I still don't consume much more juice than I did MTL (still about 10ml a day or a gallon a year), just a third less nicotine. My mods actually uses less power per puff too. Mainly because my puffs are shorter.

The only thing I noticed is that it condenses back into a liquid once inside your body. Is the liquid safe? The FDA says it is. But then again the FDA says glass, Kanthal, cotton, etc contains nicotine too. :(

Oh hell, I look at vaping as near-beer or non alcoholic beer man.

Yes, do you really need the added carbohydrates? Not really. Did you know if you drink a case of them you will have consumed the equivalent OF ONE BEER? Only, you will have started metabolizing so you will not even get a "one beer buzz."

I drank the occasional non-alcoholic beer while pregnant and it all turned out fine. Coors makes some vile concoction and the only near-beer you ever want to drink is called "Bittburger Drive." It is German, awesome, and tastes like real beer.

But my point is you can fuss about potential harm from vape, or you can just enjoy your substitute. I'm not saying one is better that the other but based on what my docs are saying I don't think ECIGS will SUDDENLY turn on me, making me into a wizened crone who is on oxygen and has had 5 heart attacks.

Cigarettes WILL do that.

Vape juice is a water soluble liquid, unlike the tars and products of combustion in cigarette smoke. After ten years of vaping my lungs are still clear and normal on an X-ray.

When I smoked the doctor once pointed out a little haze in an X-ray and told me it was residue and by-products of cigarette smoke. Naturally, he advised me to quit and I eventually did after a short time vaping.
