You'll probably get a lot of conflicting responses. The correct one is, "We don't know yet."

But in all likelihood, something much more common and mundane (like methane or tap water) will cause cancer. It's pretty safe to say that you're far more likely to get cancer smoking cigarettes than vaping -- but the causes of your cancer (even if you're a heavy smoker) can be completely unrelated to your smoking.

Spooky, huh? Just vape on. If it's keeping you off cigarettes it's doing its job. If it's between vaping and not vaping, however, not vaping is obviously the safer of the two. I can't tolerate this "vaping is as safe as breathing air" crap.

There is no evidence at all that nicotine by itself causes cancer.
With that said we do not know yet if vaping causes cancer. The long term results of inhaling vapor from PG, VG and flavorings and such are not known. I am personally convinced that it is much safer than smoking cigs though.

But I do not believe it to be safer than not vaping.

I believe the "safe as air" comments are typically about second-hand vapor, which I firmly believe.

As far as the vapor you inhale when vaping, I don't think anyone can give a straight answer without analyzing the ingredients. I believe that the possibility exists for flavorings or additives to be harmful, so it's important to know what's in your juice. Some recommend vaping unflavored, or using as little flavoring as possible, for this reason. For me - I believe the risks to be so minimal compared to smoking that I don't worry about it.

I believe "life on planet Earth" causes cancer -- solar radiation, you know. Cancer isn't a communicable disease; it's a genetic goof that permits cells to proliferate wildly. Many, many, many things can lead to this genetic goof, but nicotine, PG, and VG aren't among those things.

Electromagnetic fields cause cancer too, so you shouldn't use any electricity or have any electrical wiring in your house. :)

And don't forget about the radiation coming from your cell phone, so throw that in the trash too. And gasoline has cancer causing ingredients, so you shouldn't drive or ride buses. Better walk or ride a bicycle.

And diet foods, GMO's, processed meats, refined white flour, refined sugars, apples, grapes, strawberries, farmed salmon, and hydrogenated oils all cause cancer as well. Better stick to a raw diet and kill and butcher your own meat and fish.

:danger:
So basically if you want to avoid all cancer causing substances, you will need to live like a cro-magnon.

And go far, far, away, where there are none of those cancer-belching cars and trucks. :D And live in a cave, coming out only at night... but hmm, the reflection of sunlight off the moon might lead to cancer too. Better just lock yourself in a closet and exist on triple-purified water. You'll starve to death of course, but living in a closet will make your life seem to last forever!

(Of course, you still might get cancer... it's genetic after all.)

Walk, or ride a bicycle and inhale all those nasty exhaust fumes (which may also cause cancer)? I don't think so Tim.

I hate this, "If you want to avoid cancer don't worry about vaping just avoid everything because everything causes cancer"-idea. It doesn't really answer the question, and it leaves the implication that things like cellphones may potentially be more dangerous than e-cigarettes. Apples and oranges, man.

The point is, NEARLY EVERYTHING has some potential to "cause" cancer. E-cigs would be very, very low on that list. Walking around outdoors in the sunshine is more carcinogenic than anything in an e-cig.

Source? Common sense, experience. It's a FACT that overexposure to the sun can cause skin cancer, particularly in very fair-skinned people, but even in those with more-than-adequate melanin, as proved by my very dark-skinned aunt. Not a single case of cancer from vaping, and other than the flavors, about which we don't know nearly enough yet for long-term high inhalation exposure, none of the ingredients are known carcinogens.

According to the warning labels required by the state of California absolutely everything can cause cancer.
I don't live in CA, so I don't worry too much about it.

Vaping has been linked to California going 'belly up' (financially) just before it falls into the ocean.

I vape with no nicotine liquid, can this cause cancer?
I, vaping 21mg nic content e-liquid, probably have as much a chance as you, vaping 0mg nic content e-liquid..
