Hello, I bought 2018 dated juul cucumber pods from a juul authorized Shell gas station in Ontario, Canada. I believe the 2019 mango pods on the left are real, and have them lined up with the 2018 cucumber pods on the right that I suspect might be fake. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Do you have a deep desire to obtain this knowledge and if so why? I can see some differences but juul could have changed things along the way and/or different materials processes in different companies happen all the time?

I mean, this seem like A HUGE AMOUNT OF detective work to me and commitment and whatever for the merely curious, inquiring minds want to know before I even SPECULATE.

Are you seeking a refund from the gas station in Ontario? Did you get poisoned? I don't remember Juul even making cucumber flavored vapes. I guess they mighta but unless I am certain there is at least SOME fame or fortune in it for me, IDK care to put in much effort other than noting there seem to be differences and you DID put in a lot of effort.

Also, welcome to ECF, and I am not trying to be a jerk, I'm just vaguely confused as to the reason for the effort in this post. IDK.

I bet you lots of folks are gonna help though especially if you give a reason etc.

Thanks for the reply,
My main reason was that I regretfully bought it in a hurry and later noticed the serial number and letters on the bottom of the packaging looked very sloppy, the box was damp and damaged, and also that the juice is a dark yellow. I did some more research and found that Canadian retailers are supposed to remove the "fun" flavors (mango, cucumber, fruit) that are not plain (tobacco, mint, etc.), so I also had doubts about why the gas station is selling the "fun" flavors.

Did you vape them? Did you get sick?

It has sort of been my thought that for the most part if I "randomly encounter" something I shouldn't that's like really out of date by random chance, I'm not going to buy it especially if it's something I would ingest.

Don't get me wrong I've obtained, ah, hard to find items but I tend to do my research. I have always been that way. It's probably well, saved me a lot of grief over the years, but like the only random things I will buy from gas stations anywhere are sunglasses I think are cute (a rarity.)

IDK you could contact Juul I guess and see if they were ever legit, you could report the gas station if you were feeling officious I guess, but regardless I don't think I would keep vaping them but that is just me.

Yeah, juul made cucumber flavor. It was gross. Sounded way better than it was. Yeah, I tried it. Gross. As far as I know, juul is only making tobacco and menthol now. If there are any other flavors out there, they are most likely leftovers that haven't been sold yet or complete fakes. That's my best guess. But yep, cucumber. They did that.

@Coyote628 - Juul Canada still sells flavours including cucumber (in the event you crave that cucumber and want to take a trip north of the border ;))

@Danny Hoshi – I do not use Juul, so difficult for me to give a conclusive answer, but will say the differences between the 2 does lead to suspicion. The Juul market is highly counterfeited, so the risk of obtaining a fake, even through what may seem like legit sources is pretty high. As an alternative, and this is just a suggestion, Canada has a very healthy vape market, if you source out an actual vape retailer you will find many compatible alternatives to Juul that are cheaper and more functional.

Well, first off, Juul does sell Cucumber flavors that are sold in Canada. So that much we know is true. Anything other than that is just pure guesswork. But judging from my knowlege, the box, and the darker tint on the juice, I would probably guess that the pods are old. It doesn't affect the vape too much, but the nicotine strength is probably lowered as it goes along. But overall, worn box, darkened juice, and from a gas station leads me to believe the more common answer of: "they're probably still selling their old stock".

Could they be fake... well, sure. The Ecig market really took off because of someone copying someone's design. It's quite common for name brand stuff to be copied. Sometimes the copies are better than the original, sometimes worse. The only way to be %99 sure, is to buy directly from Juul. But darker juice and worn box is not any indication of anything besides an old product.
