The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
Ok seeing as yall are being sappy here I came across a pic of the love of my life. She's waiting for me at the rainbow bridge and I get emotional every time I think about her. She was the best dog ever saved my life several times was loving but tough as all get out. Here is midnight this was taken very close to her last days just shy of 20 years old by 3-4 months. When I had to let her to :(

You started with that beautiful picture of Midnight...I'm just happy for you that she was here on earth with you for such a long time.

I've seen a few articles on dog cloning lately I forget the country doing it. As much as I feel it is so wrong it kinda tugged at me what if I had ??? But I never would. I just hope some day maybe I will have another like her. My 2 current dogs are great but nothing at all like her. :)

Was she your first dog or did you just have that "connection" with her in particular?

No not my first. Just had a special bond I guess. She was kinda a loner but my best friend. It's hard to explain. She was very sensitive yet very independent a strong physically and mentally.

Ah yes ... had to send my beloved white shepherd across that Rainbow Bridge by himself this morning. You always know that the day will come, even when they are puppies, but ... good God ... when it finally arrives, it just tears your heart out. They never make all that much noise but the house is so awfully quiet and empty tonight ...

Oh no, it finally happened :( I wasn't looking forward to the day you would post that news. I'm really sorry FisherPal.

Thanks for the comment, Phil. It's been a real rough three weeks since he was diagnosed with that ruptured spleen. On more than a few occasions, it looked like he had reached the end and then he would rally and get his 'mooch' face on again. But yesterday he had a real bad internal bleed out and ... well ... knew the end had actually finally come. Had an awesome vet though. She came to the house so we were able to send him off in his own place and I was able to hold him and cradle his head to the end. He hadn't been in any real pain up to this point though so squeezed a couple of extra weeks with him. The heart ache at the end is the price all of us pet owners willingly pay for the privilege of having such unconditional love from them for the years that they are with us.

And thank you too Lori for your well wishes. I know that likely every one of us who post on this thread have 'been there, done that' and we all know what the other is going through when the inevitable happens. It hurts so bad you swear you will never do it again and then ... some time later ... well, some other 'mooch face' grabs your heart and there you go again. I honestly feel sorry for people who cannot make that connection with a pet. It is so very special.

Sorry to head that, Fish. I work in vet medicine and really believe are definitely gone to a better place :) Our animals are very stoic and don't show us that they're hurting sometimes but if we can give them anything for all their love towards us it is a peaceful and painless passing.

And now we return to your regularly scheduled programming:

Ok fisherpal, I'll try to post something good. I hope this one makes everyone smile as much as it does for me. I love my furbaby - and my reptile babies, but I also love the entire animal kingdom in general, so this would be a video to say thanks to all animals no matter what kind because this world would suck if they weren't a part of it.
