Today, just because it was laying there on my desk and it was new, I popped the standard drip tip off my KFL+ and replaced it with another drip tip.

Must be because of different airflow but OMG what a differnece! I can't believe it but kicked the flavor, throat hit, and warmth up a notch. Amazing.

Anyone else found this to be true?

From what I understand, the Kayfun drip tip has a very small diameter hole. Replacing it with a wider one that allows more airflow would definitely increase vapor and throat hit, thus increasing flavor lol

This really depends on amount of surface area of the coil, coil temp, and amount of juice the wick can effectively bring to the coil. In the early Protank days people were using Evod heads rather than Protank heads because they were hitting better with a tighter draw. You cant necessarily improve any device with a larger hole

I have no idea why i thought the KFL was not a standard 510 drip tip, and was expecting to have to use the ugly thing that comes with it until i could research a replacement that would fit. Im taking it I was wrong and i can use any of my tips then?

Depends on your unit. Some Clones have only the screw in tip others have only the standard 510 design. Still others come with the screw in and an adapter to convert to 510.
Fasttech sells an adapter and metal tank kit.

Threw on a wide bore drip tip I picked up a week or two ago (not a huge bore like I have to drip through on my RDA, but wide bore). Made a huge difference. Seals tighter, draw is the best it's been even though I've fiddled with the adjustable airflow, just great.

Seems as though any 510 tip will fit Volume Control, try it and you may end up as shocked as I was.

That's not entirely true, although it might be true for drip tips (not sure though). I drilled out one of the holes on my Igo-W and it performs a thousand times better. Sometimes a hole can make a huge difference.

I agree CShaver, when I was stunned by the difference in perfomance I want back to the stock drip tip and then back to the replacement several times. There is no doubt it was a huge improvement and couldn't be anything other than airflow/draw.

Now I'm gonna have to swap all my tips around on all my tanks to find the best matches...lol.

Definitely. I feel like there is a correlation between the intake hole and drip tip hole that performs best, i have a few drip tips with ridiculously large holes and honestly they dont perform better than any of the medium ones. Then theres the drip tip i got with a Vapeonly BCC a year ago, that no matter what i put it on, its not as good. Im actually thinking of ordering an IGO right now, havent made up my mind or done enough research to know which one to order yet though.

Some have no fill hole? No channels? How the heck would it work without channels?

Hmmmm

Yeah in the reviews some people said theirs did not come with them. It wouldnt work without them, thats why im hoping mine is going to be ok. Otherwise i have to wait what feels like a century for FT to get me a replacement

I keep the stock drip tip on my KFL+ when I'm using a juice that I really enjoy the flavor of. It seems to really enhance the flavor as it hits my tongue. I actually thought that my juice was somehow leaking out of the drip tip when I first started using it because the flavor was that intense.

If I'm looking for bigger throat hits, more vapor, etc., at the cost of slightly diminished taste, I'll throw a different tip on there with a wide range diameter hole.

None of my other drip tips would fit in one of my KFL clones so...
I drilled out the stock tip :)
