Buzzy is correct, different strokes for different folks. My only suggestion would be to go with something that has long battery life. I think you'll find as time passes you'll end up with multiple devices anyway. I would scrap the 510 idea, the eGo IS a 510 on steroids, the only difference is the battery life.

As Buzzy said, you might not like a certain atomizer but love another. Mainly what are your concerns? Battery life? Vapor production? I've never used an 808 so I can't speak for those but my 510 got me off analogs.

A KR808 has a working of 3.7 volts. The 510 has a modulated working voltage of 3.2 volts. This even thought they are both rated as 3.7 volts.

Take two 3.3 ohm cartomizer of the same type say E2R4 from the same manufacturer put one on a fully charged battery of each type of battery with the same mah. The 808 will give you more hit and smoke than the 510 because it has a higher working voltage. Now if I put a 2.8 or 2.5 ohm carto instead of the 3.3 on the 510 I find it hard to tell the difference. The carto battery combination and mah makes more of a difference than which battery you use. The reason the mah matters is because the battery will last longer between charges. As soon as you start using a battery the voltage begins to drop and the hit and smoke goes down. With a higher mah it takes longer for this to happen. A small battery is really being pushed to deliver the power that is needed to vaporize the liquid and I would guess it will need to be replaced sooner.

The main advantage of the 510 is that it is more popular and there are more choices available in cartos and batteries.

The KR808 should last a bit longer because it takes less power to get the same hit with a higher ohm carto.

I wanted a PV devise which looked and felt like a cigarette, noting that looked out of the way. Anything larger than a regular cig and the Sheriffs are stopping you!
I started off (not knowing any better) with Green Smoke, an E9. Skip that. After researching I went with the KR808D-1 kit. Love it. After a few weeks or reading I decided to try a Joye 510. The Joye 510 is okay but the 510 carto's are a pain in the .... for me. Sorry, I'm not into much dripping and having to keep refilling the carts on a 510 is time consuming and no matter how hard I try, they're still a mess.
I love, love, love my KR808D-1. I'm on the PT while working at my desk. I have one in my pocket when I go work in my studio. I have the automatic and the manual.
I fill up my carto's with the flavors I love every few days. I normally have at least 5 of each flavor filled at all times. When I leave the house I grab a few carto's, a freshly charged 808 and I'm out the door.
The 510 battery life is way too short and the cart's even with a cap seem to leave a mess no matter how careful you are.
If you still want the atty then get an adapter (901) which fits the KR808D-1 perfectly. Then you'll be able to switch between the carto's and cart. That's what I did and now I'm happy with both.
If you're looking for something which looks like a regular cig but more "sexy" then the KR808D-1 is the way to go.

Don't give up on the 510 there are a lot of different cartos for it, basically the same ones as for the R808 and then some. It sounds like you were using an E2 type that you fill with a needle. I Use those but they are a work in progress and not quite ready yet for everyone. I don't recommend them for beginners.

Try the links below for cartos and carts.

Homeish now
At a pack a day your better off with the eGo.

BUt if your still stuck on the "must be like a cigy size and shape" stage of vaping I'd suggest a 510.
The only real difference between an 808 and the 510 is the 2 piece/Carto vs 3piece/attys...and 510 have cartos now so.
The battery life difference isnt really enough to worry about.

you know I have both an ego and and kr808, and I am still torn between the two.
I like the ego for the battery life (and I have the pass threw model),
but the kr808 seems to give me better th and vapor production. I don't know if this is because its a true 3.7 or if the fact I use an adapter so I can use my kr808 cartos and 901 attys. I don't like the 510 attys but I do like the 510 cartos alright

Thanks so much guys! Well I should have my KR808D-1 today! WOW FSUSA has a lot faster shipping than Blu. As soon as I get it I'll pack my Blu to send back. I also plan on ordering the Riva 901 from Liberty Flights asap. I hope I don't end up buying PV's like I buy purses... lol ;)

I was in a very similar position. I love my KR8s but wanted the bigger EGO type battery. I was torn between the Defender, Elegent, Riva 901 and Pigcig. In the end I had both the Riva 901 and Riva 510 in my cart at LF (for the price it was an easier decision). In the end I decide to go with the 510 and an adapter because apparently there are some 808 cartos that do not always work on the Riva 901. I figured that if I had to get an adapter anyway I might as well have the native 510 since the supplies are all over the place. After a week of having the Riva I have to admit I am surprised at how much I love dripping. I have to get a LR atomizer though because there is a clear difference in TH with the 510 compared to the 808 although it does seem that the juice is much more a factor in this. I still love the 808 and will continue to use those to but when I am at home or on the computer I drip almost exclusively.

Well been using my KR808D-1 for a whole day now and let me tell you...waaay better than the stupid BluCig! Been going all day on the same battery. Would have charged my Blu at least 4 times already. The Blu is in the mail on the way back, I hope I don't run into problems with getting my money back. Loving the manual battery too. One problem though, sometimes when I push the button it doesn't always turn it on. Is this normal or did I get a cheap or defective battery? I haven't really used the second one to tell if there is a difference. I also got watermelon and Newport juices, yum! The 7-leaves is a little strong for me but will do when I'm in a pinch waiting for new juice. FSUSA also sent me a free sample of Wyatt Erp, haven't tried that yet though. I'll have more money after X-mas and defiantly plan to buy better carts, a PCC and more juices to try. :)

I went with the eGo myself as of starting just over a week ago on this. After everything I read it was the place to me to start and is truly superior to the other devices you mention in all but one aspect:

Cigarette form factor

It is really more like a cigar. However, to me, that was no big deal and upon some thought I didn't want something that could visually be confused with a cigarette.

So I say it comes down to this between those three choices. If that form factor is a bigger deal than everything else stay away from the eGo. If it is not, then the eGo is the best choice (among those you have selected).

It should always start when you push the button, unless the battery is drained. If you get a rapid series of flashes that's the "battery-drained-time-to-recharge" sign. (I usually don't get to that point, just switch out when I'm getting a bit less vapor production)

Nope haven't got the flashing, just doesn't turn on sometimes when I press the button. I'll charge it up and charge the other one too and see if it's better. If not is FSUSA good about exchanges?

Hi Jen! I have an 808, an EGO, and an Elegant Easy. I much prefer the 808 for my all-day vaping and use the Elegant as a back-up if all my batts are charging. Vapor 4 Life has some nice tasting 808 cartos and they just posted a 30% OFF all cartos sale with the code CARTS30 that will last for 36 hours. This applies to their BLANK/EMPTY cartos as well. They have 2 types - Premium and Cool Carts - I prefer the Cool Carts as they are a higher ohm and don't get hot.

I have tried all types of PV's and have been most satisfied with the 808's. I don't like attys and I don't like dripping - I just like to buy prefilled cartos or empty cartos, load em up, and vape!

FSUSA is a great vendor - they have many tasty juices! Their PURECIG got me off analogs entirely when nothing else could.

Best of luck and enjoy your new journey!

The bad button on the kR808 and the XL KR808 is a known issue. You should be able to exchange it for a new one.

The KR808D-1 regular and the XL are true 3.7 volt batteries. Meaning that they have a working voltage of 3.7 when vaping. Having an 808 thread on other models doesn't mean they run at 3.7 volts. A few do most don't.

The 510 and the ego family have a modulated voltage run at around 3.1 volts when vaping. With the same ohm carto the KR808 will give you a more intense vape. More flavor and more hit. However with an Ego you can use a lower ohn carto and get the same effect. I don't notice much difference between a KR808 with a 3 ohm carto compared to a 2.5 on an Ego
