After you get your ohm meter, get a coil building jig.

This. Where is a reputable place to purchase one of these?

Lol thanks! I will deff throw out the 22g for awhile and ima stick to 26 and 28g for now. And as for as impressing sexy vaporitas .. im not a lezzy :p I myself am a vaporita. Lol anyway. Thanks for ur advice I will keep on doin my research on batteries and Ohm safety. Ive been watching tons of vlogs on youtube but some of them dont know what theyre doin so im weeding through them. But there are a few good people on there who know a lot. Thanks again for the advice and quick response.

Hola Vaporita. Glad to see you're not getting dissuaded from coiling.

EPIC coils will come.
Monstrous clouds will come.

Coiling is both a craft and an art, and in order to get to the art you have to learn the craft.

There is so much information out there it can be daunting to sort through it all to find the "good stuff" and you're very right. Many, many folks on the internet don't know what they're talking about.

This is a very basic list of good places to visit, if you haven't already.

Battery university isn't made for us, but they have one of the largest collections of general battery safety/information that I know about.
Lithium-ion Safety Concerns – Battery University

This is a must read. Battery "shorting" and/or failure is a real danger.

If you have an iPhone this app is fun to play with (don't know if they have an android version):

SteamEngine also has a great online coil calculator.

If your local B&M gave you 22g to play around with, I would find a better B&M... just sayin'.

Continue to come here with your questions, successes and failures. We want to help.

yea 22 gauge is some serious stuff even advanced vapers usually stick with some 24 22 is just too easy to go too low with especially if your new to the art of coil building. Personally i started with 28 and worked my way down to 24 its a lot of trail and error also make sure your post are making good contact and that your coil isnt making contact with the post/deck/walls of your atty that would definately cause a regulated device to read a short and not fire

oh and with a regulated box rock higher ohms anyway im rollin a .7 dual standard coil nothing fancy on 24 gauge at 6v so roughly 54 watts i think and its killer outdoing any low ohm mech build except for my super cloud build. A nice big 1 ohm single coil on a 100 box mod wicked properly with proper airflow is a beautiful thing

It's a type of simplified coil jig. Instead of having multiple drill bits or screwdrivers to wrap on, you move and wrap in between the numbers which are a different thinkness on the rod. It's cheaper than the first, though getting tension on it is harder. I rarely use mine but it was helpful while doing a sleeper build where you're doing multiple coils on the same uncut wire.

I have never been an accurate coil builder... I have to use reading glasses to get the damn things under the screws or posts once I get it wrapped to beging with.

Here is my advice...

1. 22g... seriously? Thats like using a paperclip to make a coil with...
2. no Ohms meter... Seriously? I have my trusty MVP to check ohms with in a pinch, a proper ohms meter is dirt cheap.
3. get some 28g... its easy to wrap, holds up for a long time and is versitile. You will see braided, zippered, tiger tailed matrix coils... 28g will do just fine

4. I just spent 9$ on fasttech and got 150 pre made coils... 1 ohm, .6 ohm and some really low ohm. You can trim, bend and unwind as needed. Great for my nearsighted eyes.

5. Get a protected VV/VW mod... I ordered a 200 watt box that takes 3 18650 batteries online for 105$ with shipping... google the kamry 200 watt... I am sorry, but as far as I am concerned unprotected mech mods are a waste.

6. what you are doing is dangerous... as a paramedic I havent seenany e-cig injuries... but I have seen other electrical injuries, and pics of what happens when an 18650 explodes in someones hand and next to someones face. listen to the advice people are giving you.
