I bought a J-tank last week from an ECF Veteran with over 300 post. Guess what? He lied about the condition of the J-Tank. Said it was never used. Got it yesterday, opened it up to load my juice and it had flavored juice all in the cap which stuck to the inside of the tank where the cap had been.

the forum is only trying to reduce these types of incidents. each of us is still responsible for being careful. for instance, I won't buy without pictures. no matter how long someone has been here I want them to be at least a little active. I've devised my own standards of who I'll trust. I am just grateful that people are willing to work hard to give me this FREE forum!

There was a picture. He is a veteran and had 300+ post. Hard for a newb like myself to know everyone on the forum. Buying on the classies is always a risk and I get that. I was just making a point.

And I am going to go ahead and throw this out there: I have yet to see one person who has been 100% for the rules put into place for classified posting...who cannot themselves place a classified ad. Just sayin'.

I've been here almost a year, I visit every day and I don't know everyone either.

when they made the first set of new rules, which was a subscribing member or being here a year, I was in the "can't post" group. and I was 100% OK with that. then (because they kindly take our suggestions into consideration) the rules were modified. so now you know one person who was 100% OK with the rules even though I couldn't post for a while. I could still buy and reply I just couldn't start a post to try to sell something.

I know the new rules aren't super-freindly to the new vaper and I love the classys, I have bought and sold 50 times or so on them, but I have to say they are needed, scamming incidents were blossoming and had to be put back in the box as well as the forum can. I have been a supporting member since I joined, I thought this place rescued me from a a certain death from gretzkys, I figured it was worth the cost of three packs of smokes.....:thumb:

This has been beaten to death already!! I am also one of the people that has been scorned. I have sold a few things on the classies, and have great feedback. Came here after the holidays to sell something to make up for the holidays and bam I can't. It is what it is and thats it. Personally I won't go over to the other site to sell because I am afraid of a buyer scam. Guess I have to wait 15 more posts or annother month, oh well.

i take it you left a negative review? so that people like me will know not to bother with the guy in the future when he might be selling something else?

Ahh ok thanks..
300 post to sell some liquid is a little high.. I can see 50 or even maybe 100, but 300?.. I always took a chance on buying E-liquids because I know I could sell them here, now I'm not able to.. I guess I have to go somewhere else to make a sale..
That's probably why the for sale section is so small with not much of anything good for sale..
I think that was one of the things that made this forum so great was the selection of people coming together and buying and selling.. Now there's nothing much to look at in the classifieds..
thanks for the fast reply though.

and just a little info. might make more money for the Website if the membership was $5 rather then the $25. If there was 20 people, probably (maybe) only 1 would pay the $25 but at least 10 would pay the $5. Make sense?

This is a fairly busy forum so it should be fairly easy to put up 300 posts in less than a week..on the Sony Socom forums I put up 1,200+ posts in 3 months a few years ago..BTW I may have registered here in June but I've put up 88 posts in the last couple days lol...

Seems to me that the 300-post rule is an arbitrary number (very much so.) If it weren't an arbitrary number, then it would be reasonable to believe that anyone with less than that number would be excluded - not just those who weren't members before 11/2010.

Same for supporting members - unless ECF is offering some sort of financial protection to anyone that gets 'stiffed' by someone (a supporting member) in the classifides.

I understand there should be some sort of vetting process but such a high post count, or pay a subscription to the site seems to leave a foul taste in my mouth (and many others as well it would appear.) Grandfathering in 1+ year non-supporting members (with less than 300 post counts) is really just a way to appease long-timers (keep the natives calm.)

My vote will be to not participate in the classifieds until I 'qualify' fully (i.e., when I 'grow up'). Until then - the 300+/Veterans/Supporting Members can play in their own sand box. :2c:

There was a reason why this forum is so popular, take those things away and what do you have..
Go to VF then. I'm sure that they will explain to you how they feel about classifieds.

The fact is changes were made and some people will not be happy. Apparently you are one of them.

and that is only 1 section of the forums. of course there is not going to be as many as all the other chit chat in the other sections of the forums. The popularity is because this forums has all the needs anyone could want, including that for sale section. If I thought about going somewhere else that has a classified section that can be used, I'm not I'm not the only one who feels this way. And since this forum is non profit for the most part, losing 1,000 members doesn't really matter to anyone anyway.
