Hi everyone, I just ordered my Pen-Style (RN4072) From MyPVShop.com and I ordered 5 PG-Free PV Liquids (Apple, Almond, French Pipe, Menthol, Cappuccino) I got the pre-filled carts but the tobacco flavor that came with it didn't taste good so I took out the whole material (stuffing) and wiped the remaining liquid inside the cart with a dry cloth and put new stuffing material, the cart takes around 9 drops but I can't really taste much of the flavor what can this be from, perhaps the atomizer being new?

I think your problem is right there: PG-free. I vape 100% VG and have to order my flavors triple strength because VG carries flavor poorly. Are you getting good vapor production? Try dripping on the atomizer, I suspect it isn't a dry situation but rather that VG needs a LOT more flavor

Technically the only flavors the tongue can sense are sweet, salty, bitter, sour and savory - and everything else is aroma. Without aroma, an apple and onion taste the same - slightly sweet. Without aroma, many fruits are almost tasteless - just a bit of sweet. I think the "taste" of vaping has more to do with the aroma.

So as long as you are getting good vapor production, try vaping so a bit wafts between the draw and the inhale and try to get the scent. If all of the vapor goes straight from the PV into your mouth then lungs, your nose won't be smelling it. Cigarettes are different because they make smoke all of the time they are lit, not just when you take a drag, so you can't avoid smelling smoke.

I had a problem tasting the flavors when I first started vaping due to my taste buds being fried out from smoking a pack a day, and also that the first time I ordered liquid I got a high vg liquid. I found out later as I was starting to get frustrated with it that vg has a tendancy to dull flavors down quite a bit. With that I moved to a higher pg mix and started to taste the fluids much better, and after being at it for a few weeks my mouth started to recover and I could taste even more...so give it time, let things break in and let your mouth adjust...you might try something with a higher pg...or wait it out a bit...whatever you do don't give up on it the extra lung capacity and being able to taste food again is sooooo worth it! Good luck and hope all goes well for you

A lot of experienced vapers have mentioned periodic I-can't-taste-my-vape episodes, sometimes lasting weeks--but you're kind of new for that.

Everything mentioned above is valid. The only other thing that comes to mind is the primer in new attys, which you need to clean out before using. Try soaking your atty in isopropyl alcohol for 5 or 10 minutes, blow them out, then let them dry overnight.

In the morning, do try direct dripping; the capillary action of carts doesn't deliver a very concentrated flavor.

As others have said, PG is flavor! I've vaped juices that are based on both PG and VG. The best flavors have a large % PG.
I've discovered the best flavors and vapor come from juice that is 70/80% PG, 20/30% VG. I've had some that were good at 50/50 but did border on flavor lose. On a rare note, Boba's Bounty is 100% vg and the flavor is great. I haven't found many with that much VG that had taste. This is my opinion and others may disagree. Flavor for me is equally important to vapor. I stay right around 80/20 as the throat hit is great as well.

This doesn't sound like a PG, VG, or taste buds problem to me.

You mentioned your atomizer is new. Did you clean out the primer liquid first? If not, blow out whatever's in the atomizer, then soak it in 91% isopropyl alcohol (or 70% if you don't have 91%) for a few minutes, rinse with hot water, and then dry it well using a blow dryer or fan. Then add 6 drops into the atomizer, blow lightly a couple of times, and add 4 more drops. Then it should be ready to vape. Be sure the filler and liquid in the inner cart in the cartridge is level with the top of the inner cart.
