I'm sorry, but all of these "I wanted to vomit" stories make me think about a friend of mine when we were kids. His dad caught him smoking and made him sit down and smoke an "entire pack" of Camel non-filters (that was when parents were pretty mean! lol) and my friend hasn't touched a cigarette some 40 years since. Cigs are disgusting....
FYI he probably only got through 4 or 5 of them, turned green and vomited! His dad said, "If you want to smoke again after that....have at it."
I had that when I was 16 or 17; My dad saw me smoking and he said you are going to a party tonight... But first you are going to smoke the remainder of my pack. Was about 20, took me a while, went out ... But never stopped smoking .... untill I actually started vaping a while ago
Nearly a year of my mom and pop arguing with each other, accusing each other of taking packs from the other's carton. When the volunteer fireman showed my dad the evidence from the brush fire they put out (second time), I was caught. Never forget it....everyone else sat down to a great pork chop dinner; just a freshly opened pack of non-filter Camels on my plate. I got most of them down, then projectile chunks! Plan B was pops bought me my own carton thinking that the "novelty" would be gone, I'd quit, and just as importantly I'd quit filching from their cartons.
They didn't count on the "hero" aspect....the thing I wanted most in life was to be like my pops, right down to the straight Camel hanging from his lips. I suffered a heap of punishment over the ensuing years over smoking. To this very day vaping, I'll chop my exhale into parts and the second will be a big, perfect smoke ring....just like my pops did.
I smoked a John Wayne/Yul Brynner (we were all warned) while my batteries charged, the evening I purchased my 510 starter kit. I purchased a second kit the next day, then burned another Camel three days later out of curiosity. I won't lie. They were both good, but nowhere nearly as pleasing and satisfying as vaping. I seldom think about cigarettes and then only fleetingly without any cravings, but I've got a pack of YWYBs in the top drawer of my tool chest and I'm going to fire one up on the 22nd....and another on April 10th, from here on out.
That's the plan from here on out and I expect those two Camels a year will taste real good. Otherwise, I'm done with them because I'd most likely have been the first in my crowd to switch to a PV in the 1960s had they been available and I'd discovered them. Sadly, I see so many people failing with PVs, so I have to give serious, shark-attack props to Ellen at my local PV store. She heard my story, went over to mega-shelves of juices, picked one and loaded up a 510....handed it to me and game ON!!!
Backups? We're on VECs and I carry, those, a 510-T, a PCC with cartridges, and a 10ml bottle of juice when we do a day trip. As for smokers and second-hand smoke, I love the smell of tobacco smoke, and it in no way nudges me toward lighting up. I don't think about it any more, I just enjoy and continue to be perfectly satisfied with what I have and am doing.
Good luck to everyone and regards,
