I have taken to vaping, and am not having problems. My wife can't seem to vape without gagging. She takes a small slow hit, and *hack* *hack*.

Most of juices are nic level 18mg (she smokes 2 packs Marlboro/day). I have tried her on PG, VG, combo. I have tried her on USA, mocha capp, kriptonite, Chocolate tobacco, butter rum pecan ice cream, rasberry lemonade...

Seems like it is getting to be Povlov's dog, she just starts a pull, and *hack* *hack*.

Any suggestions?

Try a much lower nic level, my wife is the same way, on my 18mg juices, when your new and not used to it, it kicks the back of your throat pretty good regardless of the flavor. I've given her some juices that to me feel like nothing and even for her she ends up hacking a little bit. I do it a tad first thing in the morning when i wake up but after 3-4 pulls it feels normal again

If it's like it was with me it took about a month and 1/2 before I stopped coughing. It was really bad first thing in the morning but eased up throughout the day. I could take drag after drag on ciggy but one hit of vapor and it made me cough cough cough. But it should ease up after a while. I think it just affects some people that way

If it is not the PG it is most likely the nic, or she may be trying to vape a burned carto. Taste her carto and see if it tastes foul, she may not notice it.
Not the carto, as it has happened each time with many juices. I will do a hit and say, "like this" and she will try, and say, "*hack* *hack*."

I will let you on a little secret:

I have different levels of nic for different times of day. Yup!

I have been a pack-pack and half smoker for many years, but when I started vaping: hack. hack. hack. Specially for the first vape of the day (no matter if I had been smoking before)

Then, I realized that nic was too high for the first couple of vapes in the day. After that...unless I haven't been vaping in a while, it's too low and I need to up it up.

Maybe, your wife is experiencing the same type of phenomenon? I go through 6 mg, 18 mg and sometimes 24 mg as the day progresses. I buy the strong nic and no nic in the same flavor, and cut the strong nic level to make my juices.

No more coughing! And I got rid of the "morning smoker's hack :)

My thoughts exactly... perhaps she's a throat inhaler rather than a mouth inhaler. Try asking her to pull the vape into her mouth before she inhales using her cheeks only...no throat/lung pull.

just my 2c...

That's what I think it is too. My sister coughs every time she tries my pv. That's why she said she can't vape. I don't think it's the juice or my pv it's the way she's inhaling. I think she pulls directly into her lungs.

I still cough and hack early in the morning. Vaping is just rough at first and it takes practice and some getting used to. When I first started smoking analogs I coughed and hacked also, but I stuck with it and got better at it. Vaping is like anything else, you have to want it and you have to work at it.
