Just a heads up for anyone who may be interested - I recently ordered 5 flavors from Capellas, and purposely ordered flavors that included no colorings or additives at all (including 'caramel color'). I based my choices by going through the ingredients listed on their website.

I received my order today and 4 of the 5 flavors have 'caramel coloring' listed on the label... even though it's not listed on the website.

I dropped them a line to confirm whether or not these flavors actually contain caramel coloring... but I'm assuming the label is probably correct and the website is wrong. Either way, I'll update this when I hear back from them.

Wow - well... how's this for service?
Someone from Capella's just called me.
I had just dropped them an email (before posting here) to ask for clarification...

Long and short is, the labels say "and/or" on them right now - because it seems they've been using the labels for multiple flavors. He assurred me that the flavors I had did not include caramel coloring, and the website will always list the correct ingredients.

They are currently creating a new label design that we should see rolling out in the next month or so, and the new labels will list ingredients without the 'and/or' language.

So point is - trust the website listing for now. He assurred me that the site was current and accurate.

Very nice people, by the way.
I can't remember the last time someone called me in response to an email I sent to clear up a question.

Just got my vanilla custard from them today ingredients listed:
Contains: Natural & Artificial flavors, water
Glad to hear they contacted you so fast and by phone.
I made up a small batch at 15% to 60%pg 40%vg, it's very tasty, just like vanilla custard, maybe a tad too sweet, I'll cut back to 10% next time and add more if needed.

That's a good flavor. I find it opens up more if it is 10% or less. Also like their pralines and cream, toasted almond and double chocolate.

justsomeguy (nice joke with the new avatar, btw!), my guess is you talked with Tom, who has called me just to let me know a flavor is back ordered. Great guy and really does the whole customer service thing well.

Capellas are stronger in general than Loranns, and more natural in flavor. The van custard is close to what I'm looking for in a vanilla, but not quite there...or rather it is a flavor different than my ideal vanilla, but quite good in its own right.

Ha.
thanks.

Good guess - it was Tom, and yeah he was definitely on top of it. Took away any doubt I had about the company, that's for sure.

I haven't cracked the vanilla custard open yet - made just 2 ml of juice using the cappuccino flavor, which was good (for being my first venture into DIY juice). Not quite sure I would call it cappuccino, but I did like it. For reference, I had my wife taste it (and she had no idea what flavors I ordered). She said she thought it tasted like a sweet coffee flavored pipe tobacco. So, take that for it's worth.

Honestly I shouldn't be reviewing anything right now because until these flavors got in I was hitting the bottom of our juice reserves... so I've been vaping nothing but apple and watermelon the last few days. I was ready for anything that wasn't fruit flavored.
:)

I'll revisit this in a week or so after I've had some time to adjust to the cappuccino and compare it to a few of the other flavors.

I'll say this though - after using my own homemade liquid most of the day today... I can already see that I'm going to love mixing up my own stuff.

I have talked to Tom a couple times. He is a very nice man and on top of products. I am waiting for him to introduce Dulce de Leche and Crumb Cake to Capella's menu.

I am in the process getting all the Capella flavors and getting rid of the PA's (I just don't like them)....some odd tastes and yes, perfumey. The only PA I have like is the Dulce de Leche and the TAB and I know I will order the TAB again from PA again.

I have never bought Capella's flavorings. I hear so much good about them that I keep going to their website and almost ordering and get turned off by their flavor selection. I finally, after reading this thread, went and ordered their strawberry and blueberry. But, what turns me off from ordering from them is it seems most of their flavorings are not single flavors but whole desserts. Boston Cream Pie, Banana Split Flavoring, Apple Pie Flavoring, Cinnamon Danish Swirl Flavoring etc.

For me the fun of DIY is putting together basic flavors and creating your own mixes - they seem intent on doing all the mixing themselves so all that is left is to add nic - that take all the fun out of it.

You have to keep in mind that for Capella's, the vaping industry is only a very small part of their business and pretty much an afterthought at that. Their primary clients are the diet industry and using their liquids for their true purpose, flavoring.

I believe the thinking is that there a lot of places that have individual flavorings, but I have always loved the goof-proof aspect of Capella's. I know that I can get a good cinnamon danish without having to buy several different bottles of flavors and experimenting with ratios of cinnamon to croissant (or waffle or whatever makes the danish part) to vanilla, etc.

This +1 To what simplesins said. You can get individual flavors everywhere.
Capella's are simple and ready to go out of the bottle by themselves, easy for beginner's and mix well also.
I'm thankful for them just the way they are.

I mostly DIY not because it's fun (it is part of it now though) but it started out of necessity.
I vape 0-5mg VG juice. After I found I couldn't tolerate PG finding juice was a pain in low nic/VG combo.
I gave up begging vendor's to carry it and just made my own. There are now a few vendors that carry those combo's but still not enough.
