Cart issues

Just got my ego a couple of days ago and absolutely love it! The problem is, I've been refilling the carts after just a few pulls on the e-cig. When I go to refill, the polyfil is still very wet. Assuming it is a problem with the wicking ability of the polyfil, I went ahead and gave the "pyramid tea bag mod" a shot. There doesn't appear to be a huge difference. Still, when the flavour starts to diminish, I go to refill, only to find that the fill is still soaking wet! I really want to try the "blue foam mod" and see if that drains into the atty better, but as the nearest pet shop is 45 minutes away, I haven't made it there yet.(work... bleugh) The problem is, I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or if I've just spoiled myself by keeping the atty soaking wet. Anyhow, what are your experiences?

I throw carts in the garbage. No use for them.
You can modify them, lots of info here on that.

i had the same probs. ptb was a little better but i was always topping off. look up the spring mod here ive been using it with totall sucess for a few days now i love it, big solid thick pulls every time and the flavor is amazing

I'm still somewhat new to this, but I was having similar issues (and others) with carts for my 510, and none of the mods were really doing it for me.

I recently switched to 510 cartomizers, and I will never go back. They are SUPER easy to fill (look up the condom method), seem to last a pretty long time (at least in my limited experience and what I've read from other users), and for me, have delivered very good, consistent flavor and vapor. The first time I used a cartomizer I thought to myself "Finally, this is what I thought it was supposed to taste/vape like".

Also, they're very cheap. I bought 2 prefilled packs of 5 from Altsmoke for I think like 8 bucks, and 5 emptys from madvapes for slightly less. I highly recommend both of these vendors, however the cartos from Altsmoke seemed to work better for me.

As far as blue foam mods go, The best one I found is the BFD (blue foam dart) mod, but I don't really like the taste of the blue foam, and I'm not entirely convinced of its safety. It could just be psychological though. Also, I havent really found an easy or clean way of filling carts. It's just so messy and time consuming.

Using the blue foam. When I put the cart on, the atty will push the foam back up into the cart. So after filling a cartage, I will pull the foam back out sothat it is level with the cart top. If yours is not, it can not wick into the atty very well.

Yeah Dragon, every time I refill, I fluff the poly. I don't have any foam yet, but I just set up the spring mod as rlovev suggested. We'll see how it works!

The key is keeping the filler near the end of the cart. If you remove the cart and the filler is pushed back, you are not wetting the atty enough. The blue foam dart is a good mod, but you have to experiment with the size of the foam plug and the length of the tube.

If the tube is too short, the foam will be pushed back. If the stick is too long, the foam will end up with one side pushed down into the cart. The other side will be held up by the stick, which is pushed to the side, and your foam will be skewed. Once you get it right a single piece of blue foam will last for weeks, maybe months.

Any filler needs to be washed periodically. My blue foam always looks new after washing. it doesn't seem to burn and the cell springiness is restored by squeezing it under running water.

I haven't tried it, but the spring mod sounds like a good one.

Maybe a little off topic, but I do want to experiment with some cartomizers as davey suggested.

Thank you for the link. I knew that this was the method that I would prefer just wasn't sure how to carry it out. I'm waiting on a drip tip now but in the mean time I am using carts. Not too bad but the refilling does get old fast. Can I remove the filling in the cart and just drip direct on bridge of atty and vape with empty cart?

That's what I've been doing as I hadn't found a mod that has worked for me. BTW, the spring mod seems to be working swimmingly and my brother's gonna pick me up some blue foam from washington while he's there tonight.(no good pet store around here. Things are looking up.
