Hi - I kind of went MIA on ECF for a little while because it seemed like I was spending way too much time browsing threads. Meanwhile I've been happily vaping away on my manual 808 with 3ohm cartos or 901 attys. Then I come back to ECF and it's appears that carto technology has been coming along in leaps and bounds.
Which cartomizers would you recommend for the 808? I'm very happy with my Cigeasy batteries, and I'm not looking to switch to the MF or anything. Also, can anyone explain or point me in the direction of a thread that explains vertical vs horizontal coils?
Thanks for any input in advance!

The horis coils, sit horisontally at the bottom of the carto. They are away from the filler and supposed to be burn free. This doesnt mean they cant produce a bad taste though, when dry. verticals have the coil going up through the carto and can often burn a hole in the filler.

Horis ones produce loads more vapor, better th and they dont have that ekstra chemical weird taste to them. Youll probably say, hey my cool carts dont have that. Well just switch for a couple of days and then try one again. Never tried a vertical that didnt have something ekstra nasty in the taste... Just as attys keep a weird ekstra something that one gets use too and claim its not there..

They can also be filled alot more times, keep a better draw and overall, leave verticals in the dust. Dunno witch thread to point you to, there are loads all over, but maybe they have gone down the lists as the big hoopla was in january/february.

If in the US, i would go to nhaler and get the ones called drippers, but you should really check out the batts too.. These type cartos can, on a fully loaded batt, cause a bit of a bad taste, the first 10 puffs on a freshly charged regular batt. They dont on the batts intended for them.

I got some cartos from Smokeless Image that are good. i would not recommend the cartos from Cigeasy at all. I got some and most of them were DOA. The manager(?) of the site wouldn't even do anything to replace them. Poor customer service. There are also some on Ikenvape that are supposed to be good. Mega carts that hold massive amounts of liquid. Those are a bit pricey.

Hmmm, I haven't filled a fresh one recently, and I've only used two of them, but I'd guess maybe 2ml of liquid? They are maybe a cm longer then Boges, and a few more hours of use before refilling. And many more refills then Boges. After a month of fairly heavy use they are still performing great. Good flavor and vapor and they last..... but Boges might have slightly better flavor. I haven't used them enough to really compare them.

I must have gotten really lucky on the Ikenvapes -- I ordered them for the first time last month not knowing that they go out of stock so often.

OK, what I have heard so far: It is NOT recommended to use Lithium Ion batteries with LR devices, as they are not designed to handle the high drain. Many people do so anyway and have to live with the consequences -- shorter battery life (both in terms of time before you have to charge it, and in overall life). Li Mn chemistry is recommended for LR. Check out batteryuniversity.com for (much) more info on batteries in general.

I will probably use my LR cartos on a LI ion batt until I get a device with high drain batts. But I'll restrict it to one batt so the damage will be contained.
