I'm pretty sure it's not plastic. The inner blanket is considered to be cotton or ?. (can't remember the other name that's sometimes mentioned but it's an organic material like cotton)....{snip}

It may depend on the manufacturer of the carto. I use V4L, and the smell/taste is definitely burnt plastic.

Ive found that boges will allow 5-10 ml vaped through it before it is downhill, and same with dc's. The mega dual coils though, seemed to drop after first fill, so I have to assume they will work the same 5-10 ml. I dont waste time with boiling and all that mess. After all, the polyfill will only act as a water filter, and catch contaminants in the water. To think the water will relieve the carto of contaminants is just backward logic on already proven theories of water purification.Seriously, whens the last time you tried to rinse and reuse a water filter with water? Just my 2 cents.

The goal of washing out the cartos isn't to relive the cartomizer of contaminants. Since nicotine and pg are bacteriostatic there really aren't a lot of contaminants. Just a build up of juice that gunks up the cartomizers. It's more like cleaning the filter in an air conditioner than the filter in a water purifier. The only real concern I can think of is making sure to get all the water out and make sure they're dry. Just water in a carto and you can develop mold. Not that I'd want to use someone elses cartos, but whatever you're comfortable with. If it's not possible for someone to keep replacing cartos, cleaning them is an option.

This is pretty good to clean cartos for the people that want to do that-
