Hello everyone,

I had a couple questions about carts and I thought that the wonderful people here might help provide some insight.

How long does a cart usually last you guys? I was driving from Indianapolis to Bloomington today, about an hour and a half and I went through 2 1/2 cartridges. Well I think I went through that many. I was vaping until it seemed a little different. Which leads into the next question.

Can you guys provide any hints or tips on how to tell when a cartridge is empty, or just about empty? I am scared to death that I am going to burn out my cartos so as soon as anything seems a little different about them, such as amount of vapor or taste I put them aside now. However, its hard for me to tell if this is the cartridge or the battery at this point without most testing, which is difficult to do driving down the highway. Perhaps I am giving up on them too early?

Do carts that you refill yourself not last as long? I've started refilling my cartridges and it seems like they do not last as long as prefilled carts. I pop the top off, plug the battery connection hole and drop in around 15-20 drops of fluid and let them soak for hours. Sometimes it seems that I put too much juice in and it leaks out the bottom and slimes up the sides of the cartridge and I have to blow out the excess juice. Even then, it seems like they die faster than the prefilled cartridges that I purchase. Like I mentioned up above, perhaps I am not really emptying the cartridges and jumping the gun. Perhaps the way I am refilling them is not optimal.

Anyways if anyone can answer these questions with advice or tips I would really appreciate it. All of my kit is from V4L so it should be the same as many of you are using, which is why I felt it more prudent to ask on this board.

I look forward to the sage advice of the V4L forum members :p

ive been vaping for 2 months now, and have tried several carto versions. None of them have really been satisfactory. I've just received a Reo Grand bottom feeder and these things are what vaping is all about. I've paired it with a LR atty and there's nothing cleaner, simpler and better at producing a wicked heavy vape. Skip the cartos and grab a mod. Saving that, drip, drip, drip!

This is only my humble opinion... Good luck fellow vaper!!

Well the good thing Jorvic is that you asked very black and white question that will only generate about 100 different responses.

1. How long does a cart usually last you guys?
2. Can you guys provide any hints or tips on how to tell when a cartridge is empty, or just about empty?
3. Do carts that you refill yourself not last as long?

1A. It matters. Sometimes pre-fills last hours and on occasion you might have one that last less than an hour. What type of Cartomizers plays a big role since Wow's cartos vape hotter then Premium Cool Carts. I'd say a pre-filled Wow last me an about 2-3 hours and a Premium Cool Cart last 2.5-3.5 hours. Blank Wows 2.5-3.25 hours and blank Cool Carts 3-4 hours.

2A. Once vapor production and flavor start to diminish or after 2 hours of continual use (based of 36 draws an hour). If you wait until it taste burnt......it's too late if you ever plan on reusing that Carto.

3A. I find that blanks filled with Juice last longer than Prefilled cartomizers.

Heh, I know the questions I asked can be fairly subjective, but having a range of responses can help let me see the various extremes on the topic and provide guidance to come to my own conclusions. Heck if nothing else it will help promote some conversation, maybe, possibly...

As always, thanks for providing some feedback!

My prefilled cartos are not very consistant to be able to provide you with a flat answer. I've had some dry up really fast, though that's rare and I just 'assume' it's the guy at the factory going too fast and not filling it properly. Most carts last at least a few hours, all depending on how much you vape of course and if you use the Pass Through it will use up the cart a little quicker. I'm a chain vaper and I usually go through around 4-5 carts in 2 days.

When I fill them myself, they always last longer. I get to the end when I taste a difference in the flavor, sometimes (but not always) I get a real sweet taste, but any noticable change in taste might mean you're nearing the end of the cart. I refill with a syringe, so I know I'm filling it with as much juice as it will hold. If you just drip liquid into the cart to fill it, you really should be using the taryn spin, just search the word on youtube. 25 drops is about a Ml, and a dry cart will hold just a little over one Ml. A few drops here and there to top it off is what some do, but I don't. You really have to not get juice in your battery, so I vape them close to dry and refill them.

The Wow Carts normally don't last as long as Cool Carts. The blank carts seem to hold a bit more liquid. I hope that helps a little. Everyone is different, and cart life will also be different for everyone, however 2 1/2 carts in an hour is not right. That's a whole days worth for me.

I do not doubt that the issue lies with me. I need to get over my fear of burning out the cartridges. It seems to me that if I start to vape a flavor over a period of time, the flavor does not present itself the same way to my palate.

It seems that I have not been refilling my cartridges with near enough juice. I guess I will need to do some research on the topic, instead of just "winging it"

Once the flavor changes or seems dry, stop using it. Top it off, let it sit, top it off again until it looks slushy on top. Gently blow into it to clear the airhole. A cartomizer lasts me about an hour or so and it doesn't matter what type it is. I vape 6-7ml of juice a day. When the draw starts to get hard, toss it or clean it.

I think I need to get a timer or something. I really cant tell when I am about to burn a cart, and when I get going I loose total track of time. Maybe instead of that other thread talking about "social" applications that buzz, I need a batt that beeps after 50 button presses, or something like that. Anywho, if anyone is still browsing the threads, have a good night V4Lifers.

Don't fear burning a cart or two, it's part of the learning process. You'll still end up with a lot of empty cartos in the end. I bet I have over 300 lol
I hear ya, Maxwell. I have a hard time throwing mine away too! Now I'm at least throwing away the almost dead ones and putting the "stale" ones in a ziplock bag, in case I get in a mood to clean them. =)

I just boiled ten of them. It's really hard to get the old flavor out. I will have try to boil them, soak them in alcohol, and boil them again and I still don't know if it would clean the old flavor out. That's why I've been sticking to same or similar juice for the same cart. But keeping boxes of them is just my paranoia from not knowing what the gooberment will do with this regulating/banning thing.
