When a carto runs starts to run out of juice you will notice a decrease in the amount of vapor they produce and/or a "marshmellow" taste or they may become harder to draw on. When they are totally out you will get a distinctive burnt taste and will most certainly know it. Burnt cartos cannot be revived. If you stop before they are burnt you can refill these cartos.

Hi Ciggy. Others have also said that you will notice a loss of flavor when cart gets low. Well my taste buds are still in a coma! My tell tale sign is lower vapor and having to draw harder. If you try the cart on another battery and vapor's back, then chances are it's your battery running low. Once you "burn" a dry cart, it's a taste you won't soon forget!

after i take a couple of hits, the taste kind of goes away even with a new cart

I'd suggest something like peppermint, mint or menthol until the taste buds recover. Then you have an additional sensation and throat hit you can judge by. Other than that you have to judge by the size of the "cloud" :)

Also, if you pop the cap off, you can often see if it looks dry or wet. Sometimes I'll put the paperclip in the middle and squeeze toward the sides to see if there's some juice left in there. You don't want to fill more than the filling looking wet, soon as it starts to puddle then it can leak down the middle into your battery; then it requires some blowing into a paper towel until it stops leaking out the bottom.

Just to chime in..

When you start topping off and filling blank carts.. I just remove the cap (part that goes in your mouth :) ) and drip down the inside while I rotate the cart. There are alot of methods that others will share with you. This is just what I find easiest for me. So, as I drip down the insides of the carto, avoiding the center hole, until a small drop comes out the battery end. Then I let it sit a few moments to make sure the liquid distributes all the way thru.....

If you are using an auto battery, you should blow thru the carto to make sure there is no liquid in the center hole to avoid any getting in your battery :)

Good luck, and it is more cost effective to refill your cartos!

I do that... I buy the prefilled and then a bottle of the same flavor... I dont rinse them out...I just keep topping them off till they no longer vape good, or taste good. Some juices will clog up the coil faster than others... I used Hilton and could use the same carto for a week or so.

There are a few methods for cleaning the cartos.... I only cleaned them when I couldnt get a satisying vape out of them.

I did the .... taryn spin to take out any extra liquid, soak in vinegar for an hour, rinse under tap water and then boil in distilled water for 5 minutes... rinse, and repeat... then I shake the carto like a craazy thermometer over the sink (some people blow out the water and others use a turkey baster) and then bake them in the oven, standing up, at the lowest setting for an hour, then let sit in the oven overnight to cool.

If you search the threads... there are video's on how to clean them... :)
