I have been thinking of getting one of the carto tanks, but don't like the idea of slotted cartos due to the metal dust. One vendor sells punched hole(drilled) cartos, much better IMHO. This can be done yourself, but have you ever tried to drill a small hole in a round object? The drill bit will wander off. So someone needs to make a v-block to hold the carto and a drill bushing in a jig that is the size of the drill that will firmly rest on top of the carto and keep the drill bit from wandering. You modders should be getting the picture. So how bout someone coming up with something reasonably priced to do this with for those that want to use the tanks?

I have a drill press up at the shop, but I decided to drill a carto today before work. I have a 5 inch C-Clamp around for compressing disk brake pistons (that's why it's in my tool box - but it's just a big C-Clamp, nothing special). I used a small piece of wood on both sides of the carto, screwed down the clamp until it was tight/snug, and drilled one side - flipped it over and drilled the other side with a regular old rechargeable drill with a 1/16 bit. - The bit didn't wander and the carto didn't roll around.

To avoid a wandering bit, you can do one of two things: 1) Use a new bit. A sharp bit vs a dull bit drilling in to even very thin stainless steel is night and day. Or 2) Make a little dimple where the holes need to go with a finishing nail and a 4 oz tack hammer. A heavier hammer will tend to dent the carto and a dented carto will leak in the DCT MAP tank, so a little 4 oz or maybe even at most a 6 oz is appropriate.

Or you could just not post anti-mod bs on a thread obviously referring to a mod?

My point is that to get a reliable vaping platform, one does not have to modify to satisfy, if the proper equipment is purchased.

Just giving my opinion. Glad you stepped in to 'show me the errors of my way'... NOT.

Thanks six, guess it doesn't need to be complicated does it.

no it don't ........I just punched a couple of cartos the other day, and here is how ...........put your carto in a vice-grip ( a pliers that locks ) but not real tight don't f-ck up the carto lay it flat on the floor or block of wood, take a nail ( I use a dry-wall screw) and a hammer and kinda lightly punch a small hole, do this on both sides, you can take a small nail & make sure the hole is punched, hope this helps !

As if your initial post expressed anything but dripping negative sarcasm in the spirit of this thread. I guess I shouldn't feed the troll.

Thanks john, appreciate your input also. I haven't yet convinced myself yet I need one of these, but will probably end up having to get one to try.
