I'm using a fixed 1100 mah ego pass through.

I made my purchase tonight, but now I'm wondering if I may have messed up? I got the black anodized caps instead of stainless steel. Can I still use crack tanking juices (I know the tank is pyrex and thats not a problem), but what about those end caps? Sorry for the dumb question!

No dumb questions on this forum. Both stainless steel and anodized aluminum caps are safe for tank-cracking juices.

No kjs. The structure of a carto is that is already has an inner filler.. a polyfil batting. They aren't rebuildable. Use them, use them, use them, then toss! Some people over the years have attempted cleaning them with varied methods, but for me that was never successful and a huge waste of time and energy.

Funny how so many people say they get a better vape from cartos. I find a better taste from BCC clearos. I did try some cartos and found the smaller Boge F17 was quite OK. Easy to fill and didn't leak much. But I find the taste is different from a clearo. I use Kanger T3S almost exclusively now although I do have an F17 on one mod. Gave up on larger carto tanks. I think perhaps I do not vape through 3 mls quickly enough and mods seem to cook the juice in them fairly quickly.

I wasn't really clear about my question. it was in regard to a carto ever being manufactured with cotton instead of polyfil, seems like it would be a sweet vape if flooding weren't an issue

Not that I've ever heard of, kjs. But an inventive idea for sure!

Me too.....

Vape till they get tight or stop making vapor, sling in the trash and go get a new one!

(After fidgeting with rebuilds for so long I'm really liking being disposable)

Got a 3 ohm single coil Boge in the tank right now vaping some Caramel Tobacco that is hitting like a Pam Mall unfiltered at 3.7 volts.....Life is GOOD!

I have never used a carto tank, I was using the Protank and rebuilding the heads, better performance but they seem to always be in need of adjustment. Lately I've been using a trident clone rda with cotton the flavor is to be far superior to silica. I was wondering has cotton ever been used in a carto?

I really tried to like the kanger products, but I am not one to fidget. I just get too frustrated when I'm spending more time fidgeting than vaping (which just makes me want to smoke again). As I've stated I've only gone through one cart, but if this keeps up the only hassle (if you can even call it that) is priming the carto, the taste is there (which I wasnt getting from kanger) and so is the the non-hassle. I did like the CE4's for about 4 days of use, but those kangers I was lucky if I got a day and that was with fidgeting, but now I'm definitely a carto guy! You should definitely try it!

Well,

Get a case for the rig, keep a bottle of juice or 2, a blunt tip needle and syringe and a 5 pack of carto'sin it....Anything short of tank breakage and your good too go.

(admittedly, I have had a carto tank break....It was an early smoketec....I scotch taped the hole in the carto, filled it and kept puffing till I got home to my spare.)

Many of us grew up with cartos (so to speak). The only clearo available when I started vaping was the CE-2, and you spent all day getting one to work properly (for five minutes). So it was pretty much cartomizers, or you dripped.
During the summer of 2012 clearo development literally exploded, fueled in part by an all time low in carto quality. Thus a whole new generation of vapors grew up with clearos. So part of the split between cartos and clearos just depends on when folks started vaping, and what they are now use to.

IMO both methods are good, just different is all.
