+1 for carto tanks here.

they taste betta, they feel betta, they just plain do better in my short experience with VVnovas. Carto tanks are awesome. They even extend the life of your cartomizers if you ask me. And if your 1 hole isn't getting enough juice, just take 4-5 big ol' hits without pushing the firing button to get the carto good and soaked. Take the tank off your mod and keep a tissue under the carto after doing this to catch the few drips that will come out. I find this to be the best method and I love it. I have a carto punch but I don't yet know which cartos will truly not leak in my smoktech DCTs. I figure the XL Boges would be good but Idk?
At any rate, the Smoktech DC tanks are dooope. I love mine and I'll use it over the VVnovas anyday.

Yeah that's why I switched. Are the boges back to normal now?

I wouldn't say normal. When my vendor informed me on their web site that they had the NEW and improved Boges in stock and indicated that the problems were fixed, I ordered 5 boxes. What I experienced is same old, same old performance. They took forever to absorb juice, even using the condom fill. They work ok if you let them sit overnight in the condom, but absorb top offs slowly. The old ones that worked would suck up the juice as soon as you dripped it in.

I just ordered a box of cartos from Stormy's Vapor Cellar (they are close to my town). The ones I ordered were SVC Cloud Maker (SVC for Stormy's Vapor Cellar) cartos. These are cartos specially designed for Stormy and are promised to produce clouds, enhanced taste, and quick juice absorption. SVC is an ECF member with a section in the home page supplier's list.

I haven't received my order but it should be here tomorrow. Here's a clip from their description of the carto from their web site. If they work as advertised, I've found a replacement for Boge.

Looking for an alternative to the usual cartomizers with numerous quality issues? This cartomizer is for you!

SVC proudly introduces our own line of cartomizer with the new “Cloud Maker”.
This is a 510 cartomizer, standard sized, and it soaks up juice like a sponge, unlike several of the other brands. No more problems with waiting for the juice to soak in and then putting in a little more.. Now you can quickly fill your carto and get on vaping. (We do suggest you wait at least 10 minutes to make sure the juice distributes well in the filler.)

We worked with the manufacturer to make this cartomizer our own specifications. We insisted on filler that would both quickly absorb the juice and hold it. The coil is heavy duty.
Flavor is fantastic and not muted. And talk about vapor production!! That’s why we named it the “Cloud Maker” because you will get tons of vapor from this carto.
Testing with a variety of juices has shown it has lasted up to two weeks in many cases. It is available in 2.1-2.4 and 2.5-2.9 ohms and other ohms and length cartos may be offered soon.

On that description where it says lasts up to two weeks has me smiling ha.

I think wetting and good saturation is what lengthens carto life, anyway. That's why tank cartos last so long. Once I screw up and get a burnt dry vape, the carto is headed downhill. Somehow, they don't seem to perform well anymore.

Here's a Boge I dissected after the first burnt vape. I did it just to see what caused the flavor change. What you see here washed off with hot water. It's caramelized juice. Still, after washing, it never tastes anywhere near like a new one.

We are lucky we have all these options guys. Clearos, carto tanks, genisis and other RBA's. I bet if I started back in the fabled blue aquarium foam days I probably would of gave up lol.

i started with those garbage kits back in june 09,most of them ended up in box in the back 40,but i stuck with it till summer 2011 when i found an ego kit,,got me off the stinkys

now its time to get off the vapeys :D for me anyway

OK, my .02 FRN on carto tanks...

I've tried most carts, cartos, clearos and a couple of RAs. What am I vaping now? I went back to DCTs with self-punched SmokTek 1.5Ω XL cartos. Carto life span is joose dependent; easily one to two weeks. They provide me consistent flavs and no dry hits. As long as my o-rings are 'healthy', I have no leaking issues.

Will I continue to try future new joose devices? Yes, based upon consistent favorable reviews. BUT, I'll always have my ample DCT supplies!!!

I've tried a mess of stuff...clearos, T-tanks, CE2s (and various incarnations of same) etc. Now the ONLY juice delivery systems I use is the cartotank with single coil cartomizers and EMSCCs. That's it. For me: perfect flavor, vapor, and durability...plus most times the carto can be cleaned for extended use. No guarantees with that, though worth a shot.

To the OP, yes, you should absolutely try carto tanks (everyone should at least try one).

When I started vaping 9 months ago, I was a big fan of clearomizers and didn't have a good carto experience (without a tank). A few months in, I decided to get a Smoktech DCT with a DC carto and thought it was OK, but still somewhat lacking. After a while, I got a pyrex tank and loaded it up with single coil 3ohm cartos and that did the trick for me. I'm currently using 3.2ohm Smoktech single coil cartos in all my pyrex tanks, but I'll be trying the IkenVape Platinum series and Kanger horizontal coil cartos in the not too distant future.

I still enjoy the clearos (currently using Kanger T2s and trying a T3), but the carto tank has been the best vaping setup for me so far.

That's awesome Dave let us know how they work out. I heard the ikenvapes aren't too bad either. I have a custom made butters phiniac that hasn't been used in awhile. It's a shame I tell you! Lolz

Got my first box of Stormy's SVC Cloud Maker cartos. I filled the first one with a little over half a condom of juice. It soaked it up as fast as I could get the carto into the tube. It works as advertised. I'm getting good vapor and great taste. If all are like the first one, I'm sold.

For the life of me, I can't figure out what happened to Boge cartos or why. Obviously, they know how to make a good carto. Quality control shouldn't be very difficult if you know how to set the standards and test the product coming off the line. Something has changed.

The new SVC cartos come in a strip bubble pack with a foil back. You just stick a fingernail behind one and pull it out through the foil. The packaging is similar to medicine with a foil pack. It's easier than the plastic heat sealed bag pack from Boge and at least as moisture proof. Stormy put them on sale for $6 the day after I ordered my first pack. Story of my life. Mine were already shipped. Gotta get some more.
