I think the determining factor is Bogegate, and that has happened the last two summers in a row. So I guess we use carto tanks in the winter, and look for alternatives in the summer. Two summers ago when the carto quality went south I switched to dripping, and I still do. This summer when the cartos got bad I switched to the clearos. Now that we have good cartos again I guess only time will tell if the clearos (stardust & vivi nova) will see the light of day again.

I'm pretty annoyed right now. Ordered some Ikenvape Platinum 2ohm SC cartos Monday...and they are STILL "processing". So, no telling when or if they'll come. I've never ordered from that vendor before...but 48 hours and still "processing" isn't impressing me. But I have to have something and I'm about out of cartomizers for my cartotanks (I've been having a run of bad luck with the Smoktech ones lasting past 2 refills of the tank...I've done everything to be careful, prime, don't flood, not hit too hard too fast etc. etc....still not lasting. Always had good luck with Smoktech, but not right now). Anyway, in desperation I'm going to try Boge again. I got a SC one with my F16 cartotank from VB and I'm impressed with the flavor and vapor. Since they didn't have 2ohm in Boge SC there I ordered a "mini-tank" (short and fat for 35mm cartos) and some 35mm 2ohm SC Boge cartos that I plan to punch myself.

Hate it when I find something that "works"...then things out of my control happen to put a kink in the works!

Clouds of Vapor has their DiD clone for $12. BIGBUYER coupon code + shipping = $13.80 to your door. Can't beat that price to try a genesis.

Why is it so much cheaper? Is this an outdated clone?

Its a standard clone that uses the standard genesis style. Not sure why its on sale. Maybe they're getting ready to stock up on the stainless steel version or something.

I'm not a fan of the clearomizer tanks (vivi nova). They serve their purpose as being an easy tank system for beginners and experienced vapors alike, but like anything else they have their pro's and con's. And of course, people's choice in juice delivery devices are as subjective as are juice flavors. I find that the clearo tanks are lacking in providing full flavor of most e-liquids. I've proven this to myself vaping the same flavor in both a clearo and a cartotank. The cartotank won hands down in producing the best flavor.

Tanks in of themselves have little to do with actual flavor. They are merely large juice holders. The key component is what is the juice delivery method to the heating coils: ie. cartomizer or clearomizer. Each uses a different method of wicking the flavor to the heating coil. Cartomizers use polyfill. Clearomizers use string wicks.

Vaping primarily 95% with cartotanks, I use pyrex tanks from various manufacturers. My current favorites come from IBTanked - Get Tanked With Us!. They are of high quality and inexpensive (< $20 each). I have one for nearly each of my current juice flavors, which makes it extremely easy and convenient to switch from one flavor to the next.

A key to satisfaction with cartotanks is finding a good quality, brand name cartomizer. I have been very happy using the single coil pre-punched cartos from Ikenvape (platinum series) https://www.ikenvape.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=1860 and Smoktek Single Coil XL Tank Cartomizer for the SmokTank XL.

Proper technique used in priming the carto and the tank will help ensure success. I also recommend getting the tank accessory tool from Big Daddy Vapor called the Slap-Yo-Moma. A PBusardo Review - Slap Yo Mama Multi-Purpose Adapter - Big Daddy Vapor - YouTube

The following video is the best demo that I have found that shows both carto filling and tank filling:

So the ikenvape platinum cartos fit the IBTanked XL?

I have a fairly hefty vape budget, so I've tried every new carto and clearo that's come down the pike.

I've FINALLY found the perfect setup...a carto tank with these:

CE2 Style Tank Replacement Dual Coil Cartomizers, 1.5 Ohms, Dual Hole.
    https://www.ibtanked.com/accessories/ce2-style-1-5-ohm-dual-coil-2-hole-xl-detail

Sooo much better than the polyfill cartos, with the added plus that they can be cleaned and dry burned like a clearo.

CE2s are pretty much the same thing as a CE4 Clearo ... One is shaped like a carto while the other is larger ("tank" style) Same principal though ... using a wick to feed the juice to the coils.

The holes on that CE2 are nice and big so I can imagine feeding isn't much of an issue. Glad you found something that works best for you!
