I just got the sidewinder pyrex from Valley View Vapes. It is a carto with holes in it, that fits inside of a tank. You fill the carto, then slide it into the tank. then fill the tank. (the sidewinder has a hole in it and stopper that you fill it with).
As the juice in the carto uses the juice in it, it is seeped in through the holes in the side of the carto, so it's like it refills itself.

Fairly simple.

I do find the taste a bit muted, but it is a much warmer vape than the Pro Tanks.

LOL, no very detailed blog needed i guess. THAT is the part I wasn't getting for some reason. THANK YOU

Is a warmer vape what most people are trying to achieve when they use a carto tank?

I got it because I wanted to try a carto again. Last time I tried it was the KR808s 4 years ago. But I didn't like filling them all the time. I think they use a cart tank because they like cartos, and tanks because they don't like fill them all the time :)

I just think mint was a bad choice for it since part of the joy of mint is breathing it in. It does produce a ton of vapor, but the draw is less, you get more vapor, and less pull through. I can see where with some flavors it would be good, with others, not so much.

I don't have a link (actually, I don't know how to post a link...), but Baditude has a blog that explains cartotanks, I highly recommend you check it out! Totally helped me. Just search for his name, he has a million posts or something, just click on him and read his blog. One of these days I'll learn how to work this forum thing and be able to post a link.

This will be easy... Check out 'Baditudes' blogs..

The tank carto combination brings a couple things into play that are not present with just a carto alone. The tank needs to create the proper pressure so as not to "starve" or "flood" the carto. The second wrinkle is the "hole punch" in the carto. It needs to match the thickness of the e-liquid. One hole might be enough for high PG but not enough for VG liquids.

Yup, and also from what I can see, get a tank tool with your tank when you buy it. What's a tank tool? check the videos :)

(Basically it's a long solid 510 tip so that when you are pushing it through the tank it lines up easier, you can change the carto without dumping the tank if it's not empty, and when you are close the tank you don't flood the carto because of pressure)

Gotta be honest, I've never tried a carto. Tanks were recommended to me by a friend so that's what I went for and have stuck with (and dripping).

I started looking into upgrading (proably proVari, but we'll see) and kept seeing peple mention carto tanks.
Based on your description of the differences, I'm probably a regular tank girl, but I will definitely try a cart tank regardless.

There is a link in my signature that goes to a video about doing a "Hot Swap," that's when you change cartos without dumping out the juice. It might give you a rough idea of how a tank is put together using a SYM tank tool. I'm doing it very fast because I was playing beat the clock, but the general idea is there.

baby step, baby steps!! I get it, but I don't. lol. Noted though!!
I'm sure it not as confusing as I'm making it. I couldn't understand freaking dripping first and now I'm like.. the is the most simple thing ever. Sometime I dunno about myself.

Yes, I am a huge carto-tank fan. It may not be the best delivery device in every category but, for me, it is the best combination of positives. Quality of taste, clouds of vapor, ease of use, capacity, expense.... they cant be beat. Is there a particular issue you are having??? Some quick information, the money is ultimately in the carto. I prefer Boge single coil, laser punched cartos. They last quite a while and the flavor is really consistent. Some people prefer other brands, so don't be afraid to experiment.

I've had a different experience - but hey, this is vaping! Since when do any of us have the same outcome? My ADV is a cinnamon/mint/menthol combo and I love carto tanks. For flavor I like dripping, then bottom-feeders, then carto tanks, then everything else. Your frequent flyer miles may vary.

None of us is born knowing about anything. We live, we learn. (If we don't- we don't live) :)

I'm mostly a Pro-Tank/EVOD user, but I like exploring. Got a dripper as well, but too much work :) But it is good for testing flavors.

I'm just starting out with cartotanks, but I think I'm leaning toward switching to them. I keep getting the occasional nasty burnt tasting hit from my Protanks, which has yet to happen at all with a cartotank. Kind of a warmer vape, which took a little getting used to, but the flavor is much better, and honestly it isn't as much of a pain as it probably sounds at first. Prepunched cartos cost around the same as replacing tank coil heads, and for me anyway seem to be lasting longer.

Lol yes, I have most definitely noticed YMMV when it comes to vaping. I don't think there's a consensus on anything (except crab juice). That's why I'll try anything (except crab juice).
