Cartomizer filler question......

I've been cleaning my Kanger cartomizers. Removed filler, cleaned, and blot dry. Dry burn coil. Reinstall using the coffee stirrer trick.

I know what the purpose of the main filler is. But what is the purpose of the small white diaper between the draw tube and the main filler. Is it just a holdover from the factory because it is needed with the Vertical Coil cartomizers?

Just removed it and reassembled it and I see no issue with having or not having it. Vapes the same.

If I understand the piece you are referring to, I think it acts as a barrier (finer mesh than filler material) to control the flow of juice to the atty and prevent flooding/leaking. It may be able to withstand slightly higher temps also, protecting the filler material a little longer from burning/melting.

No facts, just logical guesses.

You know I just looked at one of mine. What makes more sense is that it keeps the filler material from moving into and between the coils, keeping it just outside of them like a force field. Only the juice can pass through to the coils.
