True ignorance is "contempt prior to investigation." So I agree with those that encourage trying cartomizers for yourself (it is not that expensive to just try them out) I use only cartomizers-now Turbos-and love them for numerous reasons, but mostly the convenience. I had no desire to develop a 'whole new hobby' I just needed something, healthier to replace smoking and cartos do the trick for me. That said, I would be foolish to believe that this is anything but "just my opinion" and only my experience with e-cigs thus far ( I've been vaping for a little over four months). Everyone is different and has different needs, likes and dislikes, so the wisest move is to try them and decide for yourself. Another thing to consider is this, (and this too is just an opinion - I don't necessarily agree) in the event that e-cigs are allowed to remain in the marketplace, it will likely involve some form of classification on the part of the FDA which will also entail a host of regulations and standards (mfg., quality, safety, etc.). I just cannot imagine ANY scenario where the FDA is going to continue to allow private consumers to purchase bottles of liquid nicotine at various levels of toxicity and mix their own concoctions at home. I believe they will establish firm standards for pre-filled cartridges, safety sealed, childproof, and probably with limits on nicotine content. Again I'm not saying I agree with this, just that I feel strongly that this is the way it will all play out.
