The only problems I've found is that from carto to carto the resistance changes. Some are around 2.3 ohms and some are 3.5 ohms and anywhere around those levels. So some work better at 5 volts and some work better at 3.7 volts.

interesting....is that variation within cartos from the same source or a variation between those of different sources.....if the latter it would be valuable information for people to be able to choose sources based on their use.....

BS, and if you ever had read those threads where the problem is discussed, you'd know it. …

It seems you have some Very Strong Opinions about Cartomizers. They also All seem to be based on what Other people have said. It would truly be a Shame to go through life harboring such Narrow Minded attitudes about things that you have never actually tried.

I’m the type of person who likes to try things for Myself and draw My Own conclusion, good or bad. And for the 50 or so 510 Cartomizers I have gone thru, over 4 different brands, I have never had one burn up as shown in your links to such compelling visual evidence.

I also don’t pull the tip of my Cartomizers every 5 minutes to see if they are wet. I just vape and when the Cartomizer starts giving a weak hit, after about 150 or so hits, I refill it.

And I Don’t do some of the elaborate filling techniques that I have seen on this and other forums. I pull the tip off, put in 15 or 20 drops and put the tip back on. That’s it. The entire process takes about 90 seconds. As someone mentioned before, It isn’t really Rocket Science.

If you want to fill up a cap with juice and squish it onto your Cartomizer or if you want to spin them around you head in a zip-lock bag, Great. What ever works for you. For me, it just seems like too much work. But that’s just me. The key thing is you are out there tying things to see what works best for You and not just trusting what someone else posts on a forum.

I guess there are some Moronic People in the world who might keep hitting on a dry Cartomizer and then causing it to burn up. There are a lot of Stupid People out there. Luckily they are pretty easy to spot by what they Do and what they Say. These are usually the types who light the wrong end of an analog when they have been drinking.

And you know, how good can something be where the defenders feel they have to make utterly ridiculous or flatout untrue statements about their favourite toy?

No clue what this is referring to? But I’m sure it is was Important to You to post it so I’ll leave it at that.

I do apprecriate ALL the points that have been brought up.

If we all agreed on the same things, we wouldn't have half the cool stuff that people have came up with for vaping. If everyone was happy with regular atomizers and carts, then we wouldn't even have cartomizers.

In the end, I think its all a matter of personal preference, and I will have to find mine.

Using cartomizers is essentially no different from using longer-lasting pre-filled carts. It's in the convenience. It's the equivalent of "paying a little extra to have someone fill your carts for you".

But still, IMHO, if you're after the most savings and the best throat hit & vapor production, you want traditional atty's and juice.

And in my experience, refilling a cart (though it has to be done more often) is way easier than refilling a cartomizer. You do need a tool of some kind (even a bent paper clip) to get the end-cap off the cartomizer and to get the condom off -- at least this is the case with the V4L sample pack of cartomizers that I tried out.

Just to throw my .02 in.

I refill my cartos by dropping 12 or 13 drops into the cart cap and push it down. Takes about 10 sec max. I've refilled them all the different ways and by far this is the easiest and most efficient way.

I never vape em dry. As soon as I get the hint of flavor loss or dryness, I refill em. I've found that after about 20 refills they lose efficiency and taste. The atty seems a bit lazy so I ditch em. Given that it only cost a buck or two and that represents about a week, it works out fine.

BTW - I run mine on my Prodigy V2 at 5 or 6 volts. The cartos at 3.7 don't seem to work that well. But they do great at high voltage!

All up in your grill..
I can only speak in regards to the 510 and the retro threaded 808 to e-9 that smoke 51 sells (although I use a variety of compatible cartos from different sources.) I own a few of both and use both daily. Cartomizers generate a thicker, hotter (and in my opinion) more realistic vapor. They are however about twice as expensive to run when compared to dripping in a 510. Cartomizers can easily char and you have to be mindful of it. If the carto starts to taste burnt toss it immediately. Also it's probably not a good idea to refill one more then like 3 times even if you are rinsing it out before refilling.

I like my 510's don't get me wrong. They are great if you have one flavor you wanna stick with and want something that looks sleek and sexy there is no doubt the 510 is trendy. But it's hardly a workhorse, has no warranty to speak of and too often creates a leaky mess in my pocket. I enjoy using both types for different reasons. But, if I had to choose between the two I'd choose my 2 piece solely because the vapor production is superior and the overall convenience of use is drastically better.

True ignorance is "contempt prior to investigation." So I agree with those that encourage trying cartomizers for yourself (it is not that expensive to just try them out) I use only cartomizers-now Turbos-and love them for numerous reasons, but mostly the convenience. I had no desire to develop a 'whole new hobby' I just needed something, healthier to replace smoking and cartos do the trick for me. That said, I would be foolish to believe that this is anything but "just my opinion" and only my experience with e-cigs thus far ( I've been vaping for a little over four months). Everyone is different and has different needs, likes and dislikes, so the wisest move is to try them and decide for yourself. Another thing to consider is this, (and this too is just an opinion - I don't necessarily agree) in the event that e-cigs are allowed to remain in the marketplace, it will likely involve some form of classification on the part of the FDA which will also entail a host of regulations and standards (mfg., quality, safety, etc.). I just cannot imagine ANY scenario where the FDA is going to continue to allow private consumers to purchase bottles of liquid nicotine at various levels of toxicity and mix their own concoctions at home. I believe they will establish firm standards for pre-filled cartridges, safety sealed, childproof, and probably with limits on nicotine content. Again I'm not saying I agree with this, just that I feel strongly that this is the way it will all play out.

All I've ever experienced is cartos, but I see no reason to switch. When my carto starts losing flavor or feeling hot, I refill or change. If the carto gets so hot it burns thru the side, either the carto is dry or it's extremely bad quality. I've not run across a carto yet where the condom couldn't be removed with my fingers. Any sharp object will remove the end cap. It doesn't even need a bend in it. I still count my drops while refilling. I flood too many cartos by pushing the end into the juice. A person has to be pretty lazy to consider this a chore. I go thru 2 cartos a day and maybe spend a total of 1 minute a day refilling. Where do I find the time?

I really don't see how anybody can be so set against one method over another.
