Hey all, been lurking around the forum for a little while now when i decided to read up on what e-cig would be best for me. I ended up going with a KR 808, but i was kind of curious on the comparison between cartos and dripping on an atty.

I haven't tried using any 3 piece configs so far, just the cartomizers really and was wondering if it was even worth trying out the 3 piece since cartos seem to give a decent amount of vapor and good flavor most times.

I'm sure this has probably been asked a million times before, but couldn't think of any questions i haven't already read about other than this one for my first post. Sorry if it seems redundant to those that have been on this forum for a while.

I have a KR808D-1(actually several, loved it so much after the first kit I bought a total of 4 kiits). I tried 2 3 piece e-cigs before getting this one. I found that refilling the carts all the time, on both 3 piece e-cigs, was a big drawback for me, so I have those put away for backup or giving away to someone. Also, I started wondering how often I would have to replace the atomizer. Being able to refill and clean the carts on the KR make it just as, if not more, cost effective. With the KR, I don't worry about the juice leaking out of them, when traveling, like I did the others. I don't know anything about "dripping", but if you want great vaping, I think you already found it. If you want to test out atomizers, the 901 works on a manual KR. It has a cooler vapor, and is also in my backup pile. You can also get an adapter for a 510 atomizer to a KR battery. The 510 is a warmer vapor with a better throat hit, but, again, the refilling often wasn't for me(also in my backup). Hope I've helped.

The cartos work out well for lots of folks, as they are simple and usually do the trick and provide acceptable performance. For better performance, a 3 piece like the 510 is superior, but requires a little more "fiddling". I prefer a 3 piece because 510 vapor is extremely thick and smoke-like, and you get lots of it with a fairly small hit. There's a reason the 510 is the most popular model on the forum ;) I'd recommend grabbing a $2 kr8 batt to 510 atty adapter and a few atomizers and giving it a try.

Yeah thats really the main reason why i was thinking about giving it a try. Watching some youtube videos of the 510 and theres just insane amounts of smoke with some of them. Granted, with the juice i just recently got (70/30) i'm seeing nice vapor of my kr 808 as well. Any info on the cheapest source for 510 attys? i've looked around a few places, but there are far too many different stores to find an answer fast.

aight awesome, ill check out those places and maybe order the adapter and atty a little later. Just started using my premium cartos i got from V4L today, and the vapor production is so great on them that i wonder if its worth bothering anymore to be perfectly honest.

Will more than likely still grab an adapter and an atty or two just for backup in case i run out of usable cartos for some strange reason.

A 901 atty will work on 808 batts without an adapter.

yeah i kinda figured as much, but the adapter is cheap enough anyway. only like 3-4 bucks and i hear a lot more about 510 style atomizers than 901 style atomizers as far as vapor comparison goes. the reason for trying the 510 configuration is really just for a comparison to the cartos i'm using currently--basically to see what i'm missing out on or if i'm missing out on anything.
