Hi All,
I bought an iTaste vv3.0 all set up in a shop. It came with a "510XL stainless 2.0-2.4ohm single" carto and tank. I purchased a box of 5 cartos at the same time. The box is plain white with the store name on it and a sticker with the above info printed on it. This is all I know about it except that it has a single pre-punched hole. I was looking online to purchase more and I am finding all different specs on the cartos. Some say they are low resistance and are for 1.7ohms, others 2.0 while others are 2.0-2.2 or 2.0-2.4ohms, Either 37 or 45mm long, single hole, double holes, and slotted holes... I am confused, although with these ecigs that is becoming a normal state! Obviously, if 45mm "fits most long tanks" then the 37mm should be ok too and I could/should measure one of the last cartos I have however, I have no mm measuring device...only one site said that the Boge brand were low resistance for 2.0-2.4 +/-0.2ohms otherwise they said Boge was 2.0ohms...are you beginning to see why I'm getting confused?

Has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with Boge cartos?
What is the benefit to 2 holes (if any)? Slots?
Are the majority of taller tanks 45mm?
Is there such a thing as a standard length Xl tank?

The Boge cartos, single hole, looks most like the ones I bought initially and I would call the shop to ask but they wanted me to pay $12/5pk plus shipping and if I buy them online I've found them on sale for $7.29 and less depending on quantity ordered (priced down from $8.99 at the highest). I would be embarrassed to call and ask about brands...

thanks for your help!

XL means you'll need the 45 mm ones for that tank, whatever cartos you use.

The rest is preference...and juice. If you use thick (heavy on the VG) juice, you usually will want 2 holes (some people poke their own, and can poke 3).

Boges are VERY well known, and a lot of people love them.
Many other people highly recommend IkenVape cartos. And there are a lot of SmokTek cartos around too.
If you liked the flavor a lot so far, you can stick with Boge.

For resistance - you have Variable Voltage, so you can use ANY of the different ohms. Again - it's preference. A lot of people like the 3 ohm coils, as they can use a higher voltage with them, and say they get better flavor. Me, I'm the opposite, I like LR (lower resistance) coils. You could buy a box of each, and then you'll know what you like best.

Prolly the ohms that offers the widest range with the iTaste is 2.4 ohms single coil. "XL" cartos hold 1.8 ml juice. As for holes if using a thicker juice (high VG) you might need 2 holes.
Juice Components
Flavoring usually about 3- 15%- could be higher or lower depending on the flavor used.
PG enhances flavor, TH and lung hit- water like - many of us believe PG to be a throat irritant.
VG= vapor and can mute flavor- thick
Nicotine- TH, lung hit and our need for nicotine. The MOST important ingredient in regards to TH and lung hit.
Standards in the industry are 80/ 20 or 70/ 30 PG/ VG. Higher VG juices (60%+) can sometimes lead to wicking probs. Many are moving towards a 50/ 50 ratio as they find it a smoother vape.

Generally 1.7- 2.0 ohms are for 3.7 volt PVs- these are known as low resistance/ LR cartos.
Has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with Boge cartos?
They used to be the best cartos available until they changed the filler and vapers were getting a terrible taste and cartos were only lasting a couple of days. This happened around the time clearomizer were introduced- many never went back to cartos. My favorite are SmokTech cartos. Ikenvape are supposedly the best but the Vendor immediately sells out when a new shipment arrives.
What is the benefit to 2 holes (if any)? Slots?
If having wicking issues with higher VG based juices 2 holes can help or if chain vaping sometimes 2 holes are needed.
Are the majority of taller tanks 45mm?
They are all diff sizes. It's not only important to get the correct length but also the correct diameter. Over sized (diameter) tanks can look funny on smaller PVs and also make them unstable/ top heavy while standing up. These larger diameter yanks are menat for the larger Tube Mods.
Here's an ohms to volts chart with notes to give you a "general" idea:

Cartomizers come in two lengths, 35mm (standard length) and 45 mm (XL or extra long length). Purchase the length that is correct for your particular tank. The difference between brands (Boge, Ikenvape, Smoktech) are personal preference based on one's personal experience, they will all work if the correct length.

I recommend 2 holes for a 50/50 pg/vg juice ratio. Choose a resistance between 2.0 - 3.0 ohm for a variable voltage battery.
