I was wondering when someone would try this.
I wonder where it vents from while inside the tube? I'm going to try this. I just ordered some more adapters because the ones I got I must have 10 of them. They are the 510 to 901 male version. I'll probably use them as connectors for my mods if I ever build another one.

Okay I made a 510 gold driptip v2 MAP tank and while it does create massive vapor I like the stormy 808 better. The MAP tank just had too much air space I think because it's so big and the draw is too light. I broke out in a sweat though from all the vapor it produced. I'm back on my 808 Mega tank now.
Maybe tomorrow I'll try an 808 in the MAP tank.

"Various Cartos / Various Tanks" by 5cardstud. I'd like a signed copy, please. I've got a special place on the shelf saved for it - next to my first edition "Carto Slotting for Dremel Noobs" by Pokey. :)

I'm really glad to see how much you're enjoying your new tank and that you've found one that works well for you. Thanks for sharing your adventures and ideas, 5card!

I'd like First Editions of both please. I prefer the leather bound limited editions. Signed of course with something like:

"To Nick~
Even though you are the inspiration for none of this book, I still want to dedicate this book to you
because you're just such a ... well such a swell guy and I could not have done it without you !!!!"

Love,

OK, it has been well over a week and I am still enjoying my liquinator with the slotted 510 boges. I think this is the first atty/carto/tank etc. that has made it past a few days with me still liking it, so this may be the keeper! I don't know that I am brave enough to try something different and slot it myself yet, but I suppose if I was going to it would be the 801 Fusion 5card raves about. I'll wait until I have my Buzz Pro and an adaptor to venture there! I do have a few questions more related to the carto then the tank.

1. After my initial dumb move of not waiting after a first time fill and burning one out... I have been waiting 2+ hours on initial fill before using one... is this overkill? how long should I be waiting?

2. A couple of days ago I wanted to vape a different flavor, so I took out the one I was using and put in a new one. How long can that one sit, will it dry out? When used again will I have to wait a few hours for the liquid to soak in again? I just want to avoid that horrible burnt flavor that came from using to soon... if I never taste that again it won't be long enough.

3. On average how long do these 510 boges last. I only have 3 unused one (for me and the husband) and would like to buy more for a rainy day.

4. How does one test new flavors with these. I assume the liquid that soaks into the filler sticks around for a while, so if I dumped a new flavor in I would be tasting a mixture of the two, and not really know what the new one tastes like... Does this mean I have to keep some of my old school 510's around to drip a new flavor on before I use that flavor on a cartomizer?

5. Does everyone keep a backup cartomizer filled in the event that the one is use stops working? I can't imagine going two hours without vaping waiting for a new one to soak up the liquid. This brings us full circle back to question 2... If you do have a backup will it dry up?

I know... I know it seems like I am getting this and then out comes the stupid questions making me sound like a complete newb all over again!

Well I only use one flavor so that part I don't know about. But I still use a fusion by it'self without the tank. I'm just trying to find the best vape I can. When I want to test a flavor I just grab an 801 mini atomizer and try a few drops.
If you did change flavors on a carto whether it was in the tank or not you would be getting a combination of both flavors until the second flavor flushed the first one out.
When I first put one in a tank I fill the carto first untill it's full and then the tank. Then I just vape right away.

Glad I held on to some of those 510 atomizers...

I guess if one of them suddenly died, filling a new one before placing in the tank would prevent a long wait... The only one I have filled were those clear dual carto's (I didn't like them at all) it was kind of a pain to sit there dripping into it and it took a pretty long time o get it filled.

How long can a filled carto sit before it dries out?

1. After my initial dumb move of not waiting after a first time fill and burning one out... I have been waiting 2+ hours on initial fill before using one... is this overkill? how long should I be waiting? Yes, that's overkill. I go by the 30-minute standard, which is probably overkill also—but better safe than throwing up into next week.

I'm not sure about this one; it will dry out, of course, but will be reconstitutable? Don't know. Cartos are relatively cheap.

3. On average how long do these 510 boges last. I only have 3 unused one (for me and the husband) and would like to buy more for a rainy day. YMMV. I get a week out of them.

If by "old-school 510s" you mean atomizers, the answer is yes (although I'd recommend you try IkenVape's Cannon Attys); dripping is good for a lot of reasons, and sampling flavors is one of them—although you'll find things won't taste exactly the same when transferred to a carto.

5. Does everyone keep a backup cartomizer filled in the event that the one is use stops working? I can't imagine going two hours without vaping waiting for a new one to soak up the liquid. This brings us full circle back to question 2... If you do have a backup will it dry up? I don't, for the same uncertainty I mentioned before—and for the 30-minute soaking time I use; I can stand to wait that long.

We've all been noobs. We're all still noobs about something.

With heavy vaping at 6v, I was getting about a week out of Boge carto's. I would imagine at lower voltages/less vape time, they would last a bit longer. As for pre-filling carto's, they will dry out some after awhile but you can 'cap' them with the carto condoms to keep them fresh/damp longer. The caps are fairly airtight so that will slow down evaporation. I personally never pre-filled or waited/soaked, but I also would flood them to be sure they were saturated thoroughly. After that I would draw out the excess with the bottle or a syringe. If I was switching flavors I would cap the one I was using to keep it fresh. You really can't test flavors with a filler type carto, atty's (or a CE2 carto) are the best for that. I mention CE2's because they're very similar to a bottomfeeder with an atty and can be dripped (as Mike/Buzzkill does).

On cartos when I want to empty one I just put it into a cap, then put the carto and cap in my spinner, then just do the taryn spin a little faster and longer. When your done you will have a cap full of juice and an empty carto.

How long can a filled carto sit before it dries out?
I had some cartos that I was saving to clean and recycle, back when I did that, that were almost a yr. old that still had juice in them. But I kept the condoms on them. I finally got around to tossing them.

BTW here is the MAP tank with a Fusion in it. It's works great.

You people are great. This is the first post I've read this morning and it's a fine way to start the day. Pokey, now you see how I got 10,309 posts.

Yes, 5card, yes I do see how you have gotten to 10,000+ posts. That is quite an accomplishment...one that would take me 10 years to match at the rate I am presently going.

I do want to thank you for taking the time (way back when) to teach me how to insert images...having that nifty little trick under my belt has been quite useful, at times.

Well I hate windows. My old little pc today started saying I need to activate to log on. I said yes and the activate screen popped up to say "This program is already activated" it then went back to the first screen, "This program needs to be activated. I tried reloading the program but it wouldn't let me until I activated the one that is already activated. Luckily I got parts everywhere so I just put a different hard drive in it and now I'm loading Windows again. All this for one stupid game because that's all I use it for.:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
