So iv been reading everything i can find on E-cigs, alot found in this forum, but other places aswell.

I dont own a PV yet but im leaning towards the Yeti 510 kit from
AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | Happy Holidays! with 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, 5 cartriges.

My question is, what is the difference between the 3 mentioned in the thread title?

Iv watched the movies on Alt-smoke.com under "learn" tab, and i thought i understood everything, Cartridge being the filter filled with whatever you want, atomizer being the thing that vaporize the fluids. But then they start talking about cartomizer, which looks like a mix of the two. Whats the point of using cartridges, prefilled or not, if you can just use a cartomizer....?

And in the movies about cartridges, they seem to be filled with more then just the E-fluids, but people still recommend to keep the empty cartridges and reuse em, filling them with whatever you want... I just dont get the big picture... Can some1 please explain this on a "e-cig for dummies" level?=)

Sorry for all the questions, i am just eeger to get going since i love smoking but i dont wanna reward myself with abit of death and bad smell, sucky endurance and bad economy anymore...

EDIT: Also, Every1 keep talking about "attys".... What is that?

I'm new at this but will try to help
The atomizer is the unit that contains the coil which heats the juice to make the vapor
The catridge is a small juice container that sits on the atty. They don't hold much, constant refilling.
A cartomizer is a large cartridge and atty combined, one unit. They will hold about 1 mil of juice so you can vape longer.
I just got some Boge cartomizers and find they make my vaping much more enjoyable. Less filling=more vaping.

Some people prefer using cartridges (carts) and some people prefer using cartomizers (cartos). It all comes down to what you like and works best for you. I'm a cartomizer person myself. They're more convenient for me. My fiance prefers cartridges.

Cartridges have a filler in them that holds the juice in and helps it wick to the bridge (that's the part with the wire mesh on it) in the atomizer (atty.) You can refill and reuse the cartridges over and over for quite a long time. The atomizers will need to be replaced more often, but if you take care of it, it can last for months.

Cartomizers are designed to be disposable, so they're cheaper than carts and attys. That doesn't mean you can only use them once, though. They can be refilled multiple times, cleaned and reused. Some will last for a few weeks before they start tasting or smelling burnt. When they taste or smell burnt, you toss them out.

I too purchased from Altsmoke! good vompany, good juices and super fast shipping.

I use cartomizers (also known as cr8's) because i like the convenience of fillin em up and hittin the road. I use the condom menthod (youtube) and since its a cart with a built in atomizer I save the life on the atty. I reuse them over and over. one thing to keep in mind is to make sure that when you look through the mouthpiece (after filling it with juice) you can see clear through the hole (if you can't-it will leak). Give it a blow from the mouthpiece end onto a paper towel-when it "whistles" the hole is clear. Also, if you use the same cr8's the flavors may blend, so watch what you're mixing together.

I use my carts for testing new liquids. Since they are so cheap, I don't mind throwing them away.

No. The cartomizer is the atomizer AND the cartridge all in one piece, hence the name cartomizer.

I suggest that you get both. The only one who will know which one is best for you is YOU.

Ditto on this. Sample it all as what you think you would prefer now may drastically change once you actually try it.

Just my $.02 from my limited experience so far. I bought some of the very highly-regarded Boge 2.0 cartomizers and can't say as I care for them too much. They muffle the flavor and throat hit too much. I am so far happier with cartridges with the blue foam mod. While that still requires more filling than a carto, it is sufficient enough of an improvement over regular polyfill carts that it works for me. They also smooth things out enough for those more delicate dessert juices that don't taste quite right when direct dripping (FSUSA Thin Mint being one example that springs to mind).

For starting out, I suggest cartomizers and Boge cartomizers. They are so much easier to use and fill.
I received some cartomizers (not Boge) in a Riva kit and was kinda in shock over having to do soooo
much just to fill the dang things. Remove this plastic piece, remove that one, punch hole in this one, get a syringe, needle, get juice bottle, fill x amount into syringe, inject into that small hole you made in the cartomizer, replace plastic pieces. It was a total PINTA.

Boge...remove soft tip, drip juice from bottle directly into it, replace soft tip....puff away.

Try them all is also my second recommendation. Atty's, cartos, dripping. You will not know what you like and don't until you do.
They all deliver a variance of vaping satisfaction.

Good luck and happy vaping.

'ok, many great answers, that explains things abit. It is just so much info to learn and read about, and the seller mistyping the iteminfo, writing both cartomizer and Cartridge on the same product didnt exacly help either =)

So about the difference between the two, correct me if im wrong but cartomizers are easier since its just a two piece, and it holds more juice so longer between refills...?

Also, people keep saying you should keep the cartridge moist, so refilling more or less all the time, but how long does it stay moist or wet? i mean, is it X hits or is it X hits or Y hours...?

Im asking cause i really hate carrying .... around in my pockets, and im really not interested in bringing a whole briefcase full of items everytime i go out.

Also, on most "smaller" types of PV's, the button seem to be sticking out, just like on "the yeti 510" which i am interested in. Is it often going off in your pockets etc? How do you carry it around without setting it off ?

best regards from a hopefully soon to be ex-smoker!=)

The cart/carto battle wages on and just becomes a matter of personal preference. If I had to do carts again, go for the mega or XL version. But since I don't have to, cartos are better and I am finding that the ego tanks might be the best delivery of all for my day to day vape. Dripping or cartos for my mods though.

Depending on how much you vape a cartomizer could hold you for a work day, ie to and from with breaks. A cartomizer will hold @1ml of juice. It's a good idea to also carry a small bottle of juice for topping off. You pop off the plug on top and if the filler looks less moist put in a few drops. My ego came with button protecters, little plastic clip ons that keep you button from depressing when you are carrying it.
