I am probably better suited to answer this question than anyone because I hated carts when i started, lol. I thought exactly as you do... I was like... what is the point of this?

Here is the answer: The atty/cart combo has a bit stronger hit than the cartomizers. The other reason that some prefer them is cartomizers tend to not quite work as well the more you use them. But you can always buy more of them, and they aren't that expensive, so no big there.

I would try and pull out 1/3 off the filling and put it back in. I like carts much, much better since i have done that....

There is also a "spring mod" for carts. There is a thread on here... I will find it for you if you want to mess with that. Basically, they take a spring out from a click ink pen... cut it so it will fit sideways in the cart...then use maybe 1/3 of the filler placed on top of the spring....

This allows a lot of juice in the cart....and solves most of the issue of 5 hits then refill with carts...

I will admit that I now mostly use carts... In the beginning I could not see the point of them - at all.

Just my opinion - I'm new to vaping and my model has a hole in its battery (M402). I bought some cartos but I'm a bit wary of one dripping a bunch of juice and killing my battery or atty or both. So I bought a 3rd battery and atty and then I'll try cartos haha. I can't drip with my model. I can dip but I do only get 3-5 drags off of that. With a new cart, nicely topped off, I can get a lot more drags than with a dip. M402 has tiny carts but it also doesn't burn a ton of vapor at once.

So right now I am not minding carts. I am almost always at home or at work and I can easily top off a cart in either place. My boss doesn't care. I still have to learn how to clean, refluff, replace the stuffing because after I used the same cart for a few days it was not performing well at all - frequent topping off, etc. like you said.

I agree. But I think that people that start are like what the heck? I was one of those people. There is a reason that all mass marketers choose a 2 piece model - simplicity. Well, and that it looks like an analog.

Anyhow, my view is that most "rookies" should buy carto's and play around with the atty/cart combo as they go.

Like I said, I hated the atty/cart combo when I started. It seemed totally stupid. Why I chimed in. Now that I pulled out some filling though i almost only use the atty/cart combo as it makes more sense. The problem is that the cart was designed very poorly - to say the least.

The only purpose of the filler extending all the way to the end is to keep it near the atty. The first second I looked at this I was like - this makes no sense. It takes all the room for the juice. Why I began to think of a better way -hence me looking at modding it. The spring mod is the best answer outside of these knuckleheads making a cart with a built in tray and 1/3 the filler.

Maybe, I admit I haven't put much time into them I had one I messed around with the filler and thought i had it working well but then had to redo it after like 2 refills. That and their short span between refills just made me say screw it. CE2 I PTB it, it'll hold about 1.7ml and with daily use I dont have to do anything but refill it for weeks. I suppose I'm just lazy lol
