So, I'm confused. I think the terminology is unclear to me. There's the center post that touches the atomizer. Then there's the entire brass assembly that sits inside the stainless cap. What you're saying is that the pressure of the center post is what causes the enclosing brass element (the part with the screw threads) to expand and hold the element inside the stainless cap? In that case, why was mine separated when the center post was firmly in place when I got it? Shouldn't it only have come loose if the center post was removed?

Not to press the point, but can I get an answer on this?

In manufacturing there is always tolerances yours just like a few of them just happened to have a smaller diameter Brass part and larger hole in the SS adapter which did not allow sufficient expansion to make it fit snugly into the SS adapter.

Well seems as if my 510 adapter on my V2 is messed up also. The brass insert that is INSIDE the stainless adapter is spinning and poping in and out, So it no longer makes a connection unless i hold it down. Plus since it spins and pops up and down i believe its no longer sealed, so juice can get in there. I think the same issue CrashTest is having

Interesting! So you waited 2 weeks for a replacement? Seems odd to me that they cannot ship you a NEW one while your DAMAGED one is on its way back to them.

I emailed them and asked them if while the damaged one is being sent back if they could send the replacement so i am not waiting for 2-3 weeks.

Hell charge me full price for a new 510 adapter, ship it and when the damaged one arrives, credit me back!!!

Actually that's exactly what they did for me. Casey had dropped one in the mail right after I informed her of my 510 adapter failure. I received my replacement while the damaged adapter was enroute back to them.
