Availability of Adapters

Hi Steve , Casey whomever if I order a 801 adapter for the prodigy will it ship right away or is there a wait on this also ??

I just noticed that the derilin washer is recessed on my adapter for the 901 which is causing the atomizer to heat to much I need a replacement

Hey Tommy,

The 801 adapter would ship immediately ... Recessed Delrin would not make the atomizer heat up. If the posts were touching, It would short the unit and make the batteries and/or resistor heat up.

what causes the atomizer to heat up to very hot with a 3-5 drag starting from a cold atomizer ??

Hey Tommy ...

Holding the button down too long. You shouldn't do more than 2-3 seconds with a 901 atomizer ... Once you get the hang of 2-3 seconds, intervals on when to let it cool, etc... You can try bumping it up to 4 seconds like Sharon does. Otherwise, you start to temp fate.

Think of eliquid like coolant for a car engine ... You have to keep coolant pumping through it to keep it cool, otherwise, your car will overheat. Add a turbo or supercharger, you need to get it intercooled to keep things even cooler.

Engine = Batteries
Turbo = Added Voltage
Coolant = eliquid

Keep the liquid pumping with short 2-3 second draws with intervals after 6-10 puffs, and you should be set!

Thanks Steve I figured so , it just seems I can hit my zimoshi magnum for 5-7 secs no problem and that is running a 6volts but on my multimeter the prodigy seems to be at 6.5 volts ?? I thought it supposed to be at 5v ????

Hey Tommy ... Your testing voltages *unloaded* ... You have to complete the circuit via adding the atomizer to test the real and correct voltage

You can't ... The tests were performed *outside* of its tube ...

You can build a little rig to test it your self though ... Involves pulling the batts out of the tube along with the switch (with resistor). Some extra wire ... And a multi (which I believe you have) Once pulled out, connect the atomizer cut away 2 small spots on the wire insulation to test the circuit, then turn on

oh that would be too much like work I think I'll just get a 801 adapter for this baby and leave the 901's to my magnum .

Trust me ... If the resistor wasn't doing its job ... the entire unit wouldn't work. A pretty easy guarantee and tell tale sign it is working 801 or 510 is MUCH more user friendly IMO ... I don't like the 901 personally.

EDIT: But I shall also add ... Some people swear by the 901 on the Prodigy ... Its really just not my fortay. I am too in love with my 5-6 second long drags

Hi Casey, I ordered The Prodigy Adapter - 510 (Dura/510) and The Prodigy Adapter 901to go with my 2nd Prodigy but it is showing Processing still, The order number is 17712 are the adaptors ready to ship? also I ordered the Adapters for the pass today 510 and 901 app when will they ship? Not rushing just asking

Well that does it, because I like my 5-6 second drags too, I think I will order the 510 adaptor for my Prodigy. There is a question I wanted to ask because I wanted to get one of the without resistor switches, since I already have the 901 adaptor for the Prodigy would this allow it not to heat up as much so my atomizers don't blow. I hate to waste a adaptor just because it gets hot with the 5V. Now the Prodigy and my 801 works like a champ, so no problem there. Could you let me know about the without resistor switches, I would like to order the 510 adaptor, some more atomizers, and possibly the switch if it will work better with my 901 adaptor and the Prodigy.

We're still not at the point of having extra 901 adapters. Sorry about that, but apparently from July 8-14thish almost every single Prodigy order was for a 901, so we ran out pretty quick. More coming early next week as far as I know!
