I'm an honored beta tester! :D

I received a USB "bat" for my 901 from Cash a few days ago, black with a red led. I've been using it at work on my old-ish computer with a USB 1.0 port. It does not have a manual switch, so it activates just like a normal bat.

So far, so good. Used it all today and Yesterday at work. It performs just like an almost fully charged bat - all day long. :thumb: Probably would work even better with USB 2.0...

The only dicey part are where the threads connect up to the atomiser. They're a little loose and wobbly - but no big deal. I've been assured this will get fixed very soon.

I'm told they're going to available from PureSmoker.com - Your #1 Source For ECigs, Parts, & Accessories! within the next 24-48 hours for the 901, pen, and peewee.

PS: Before you even ask, I don't know the costs.....

I was also a beta tester for Cash's USB, except mine was for the "Classic Atomizer". As sixstring says the USB I received was all black with a red LED. The wire is secure at the end. The ones I have tried from e-cig.com were loose and you could actually move the wire around. This wire seems more secure.

After I initially tried it at home on my laptop, I put it in my purse to try at work. For some unknown reason Monday morning when I left for work, I forgot my extra batteries and chargers, don't know what I was thinking when I left.

Anyhow, I remembered Cash's USB. The draw on my atomizer was a little different than when it is connected to a battery. It was much lighter. It was nice. I used it all day wth no problems, except I dropped it a couple of times because I was not use to being wired to my computer - LOL..

I then decided to use it again yesterday while at work. No problems. So I will continue using this at work as my main e-cig to see how it holds up.

Will post with any updates.

Sounds interesting (hope the UK suppliers are reading this thread).

Just one thing - I wonder if the USB is weaker? I've 2 USB setups - the Janty and one I made after one of Bastage's early videos. Both rigs are okayish - a little on the limp side / like a dying battery. Some might like this - I don't.

I think the issue is that a computer USB doesn't provide the power that batteries do (albeit briefly). Later mods have battery setups. At first I thought the idea was to lose the wire but I wonder if it was also to do with delivering more power?

Anyway - I'm rambling. Does the USB behave as well as a good battery?

Exactly Apostle! A computer USB does not deliver the power required by a e-cig (or not in my experience). A couple of examples:

The Janty USB setup is via a battery box. The battery powers the e-cig, the USB recharges the battery. Toking on the e-cig discharges the battery faster than it's charged and the performance is poor.
A direct USB to e-cig link brings up a warning window on my laptop - but not on other computers. I've checked the circuit and all connections are fine. It performs around the same as the Janty/USB/Battery setup - a little better.

I've tried using a mobile phone recharging battery pack instead of a computer - but it's no better. I guess the power output is set to match that of a USB - makes sense since anything else would have MP3, mobile and camera customers very unhappy.

The best mods posted here (that I know of - not wanting to insult others!) are from Trog, Madog and Bastage. All three use custom battery arrangements.

I'd love to be wrong about this.

even mr.Yangs USB pen goes down the battery box option.

see a piccy here

not to be negative here , but I sure as hell wouldn't trust an unprotected bit of chinese wizardry messing with my £150 motherboard.
maybe Cash could shed some light on it ..

Cheers, I was originally taking that photo to put in this thread, but decided I might as well write a whole review of it. You beat me to the linking :)
