Chowder, do you offer REO LPing services bro?

No way.... Some things are sacred... That's Robs baby I will never encroach on that. Without Rob I would still be Chowderhead72 vaping Provari's and Kayfuns. And just to be clear Rob is welcome here anytime even if it's to heckle me.. I owe him a lot!

Oooh-ooooh

Dibs on the Plumeveil clone if it turns out well? I've been eyeing the real one but so far elusive. :)

Me too! I think I have a Plumeveil clone being sent in very soon. Bf'ed a Magma clone today, very nice atty. Haven't had time to coil it but easily the nicest thing I have seen from FT. Zero brass, zero copper. Looks like my new specialty until the non gold Plumeveil comes out.

Still have a few cyclones and reactors left...

***** Discovered a cyclone cap (or afc) will fit nicely on the Reactor for a three post afc under 20mm. ****

Good to know... the one thing about that, the slots on the afc cap are angled to be on the same side. Luckily, there's plenty of airflow so it shouldn't be an issue, it just isn't direct to the coil.

********Now that most of the Cyclones and Reactors are out the door what direction should Catfish go? Should I:

Stick with trying to stay cutting edge with the latest and greatest of the Dripper World?
Stick with the Cyclones and Reactors?
Shut up and do what we tell you to do when we tell you to do it?
Double my prices and turn this into a career?

I would love your feedback (although I do reserve the right to ignore it). What should I do differently? What is working well?

I started drilling atties because I was frustrated with the lack of selection of bottom fed choices. There were a few people drilling for themselves and maybe the occasional favor for a favor deal but no one had stepped up and said friend or enemy I will drill your atties. I do enjoy getting to take apart and blueprint how to get the best out of any atty through bottom feeding. I especially enjoy doing the atties that "can't be done without slotting the bushing"; Trident, zero slotting, bushing untouched less than 20 minutes. I enjoy the difficult atties and would love the chance to do a Veritas. I did a Magma clone last night but would love to convert an oem version.

So what do guy and ladies think I should do? I'm not fishing for a pat on the back, I'm just wondering what direction you would take.

A combination of all... keep up with latest and greatest, but try to keep reactors and cyclones on hand. Also, do what we request  and most importantly, make a career out of it, especially for those who've not ordered before. Let those who got in early get discounted rates that newbies (new customers who weren't around) don't get first time around :D

If i was in your shoes i would stock up with bottom feed atty's. Cyclone, reactor, clones, and originals of whatever you could get your hands on. Then i would open a website dedicated to selling only bottom feed atomizers. Then i would see where it goes. But this is coming for a guy who manages a restaurant for a living with no skills with a saw or drill. So take it with a grain of salt

If it were me I would try to determine what the real demand is before giving up my day job. A popular mod builder once said that in our corner of the vaping world it might seem like there is a lot of demand for certain vaping gear but there are only maybe around 50 real enthusiasts like us here in the forum who might want the latest gear.

Give it some time and see if the initial demand wears off or grows.

Every time I see a cool new atty hit the street I think to myself man that would make a great bottom feeder. I can and do mod my own attys so I know the work that goes into them. Sometimes I just don't have time. It's good to know that there is a place I can send it where I know it will get done right the first time. I don't recall what your charging but from what I've seen so far I personally wouldn't have a problem paying double the current rate for the convenience of custom work in a timely fashion.

Now that you have the privilege of selling your work above board as a business, don't sell yourself short. There is a great need for the service you are providing. My hope is that it continues to be available, that you continue to enjoy it and that it turns out to be a great opportunity.

Just food for thought.

I wonder if doubling the price would be a good idea, unless you do some tweaking.

Take for example, a nice clone atty might be anywhere between 25 to 40usd

Add in the new doubled rate of $30, that's between 55 to 70. Now add in the shipping rate of $5.80 + own shipping to chowder.

Each atty is now 65 to 80. That's real pricey and starts going into an authentic price.

I do however think some people would be willing to pay for it still, although I'm not sure if the number would be large enough.

Certain tweaks can make the doubling in price work out a little better though; stuff like taking out return shipping altogether.

The other thing to take into account is you'll need to be competitively priced, and in this case, compared to Rob. So the attys that he already carries (eg RM4 and your atomic, RM5 and a zenith clone) would need to be priced competitively. Just a thought.

I was thinking more along the lines of doubling the price of the upgrade and not the atty itself.

Yeah I know whatcha meant. But I'm coming from the perspective of someone who's going "I wanna buy a XYZ for my REO. How much do I hafta pay in total for the atty and get it bottom fed"

That's a very real consideration IMO.
