And...slammed!

I haven't had any issues with my rem other than being a bit tricky to build initially. I didn't use any of the tricks that everyone is posting about just applied basic knowledge and figured it out from start to finish in less than a 15 minutes and I'm using 32g nickel and original oem screws!! I think everyone is over thinking this.....I crossed the center positive wires and wrapped the negative around the screws completely ignoring those ridiculous negative post holes.

Sloth,
Try one more thing before giving up....Use your same exact build and just wrap your wires around the screws. DO NOT USE ANY OF THE POST HOLES AT ALL!

Let me know how it turns out....

You're suggesting I even wrap around the positive screw? OK I'll give it a go next time. Is wrapping around the screws "safe" I'm am atty not designed for it, you think?

Yes, it is safe. Many atty's don't even have holes.

I always try to find atty's with screws because they're much more forgiving when using ni200.

You all should have just gotten a manta and been done with it[emoji1] I'm getting great dense clouds and crazy flavor at .3 ohms. Just sayin......[emoji15]

Hope you all get the Rematty figured out.

Were you on the 2nd run of Mantas? If so when did yours arrive?

Nope. I was the first person on the first run[emoji1] I have been running it for a while and I think you will really enjoy this atty. It is a flavor chasers dream without giving up vapor production. Nice dense vapor.

Agreed with the Manta.. It's found a place in my regular rotation, along with the marquis and rogue. The Rematty has been a disappointment.
Building it is a bit of a pain but not too much so. The problem for me with the atty is the inability to get a flavorful vape off of it. I'm not expecting
Marquis or Manta level flavor but performing somewhat like the Rogue flavor wise would be awesome. Please post your Rematty build if you figure out
how to get a good vape off the sucker.

Squonking, Day 3: Finally got around to a serious build session with my C.A.M. REMatty. THAT was an exercise in patience. It's a sure bet that the V2 of this thing won't have these stupid wire slots (if there is a V2). Finally got a 0.45 ohm dual Clapton build working in it (after shorting out on the cap once). Squonks like a dream, nice tight o-rings, good flavor, decent clouds, runs too hot to chain vape with this setup. I'd call this thing a near miss. Think I prefer the Rogue. Anxiously awaiting my "Catfished" Derringer.

Being a lefty is a bit of a bummer as a squonker. Not exactly an ergonomic joy. But hey, I'm used to it.

Also, slammed!

Took it out for the day and it's been performing well. One trick I use for the neg posts is that I keep the wires straight and after I slid the wires in, I take a sharp pair of tweezers (with the screw removed) and stick the tweezers into the screw hole between the slot and the wire and bend it in. It takes the guess work out of where to bend the wire before slotting it in.

If you want ambidextrous squonking, look into the 3D printed mods designed by Gdeal also on these forums. Easy squonk with either left or right hand. :)

I never thought it would happen to me, but unfortunately it has. My Derringers center post has started to spin. Not exactly loose right now, but its turning when I tighten down the positive grub. Tom, what's protocol for getting it fixed? Im waiting on my Bonsai to arrive, along with a Peko and Veritas combo I recently purchased, but as soon as they get here, I'll be looking to get the Derringer fixed. This will be my second go around with the Veritas, I wasn't very impressed the first time. But hoping I can get it worked out this go around. Anyways, the Derringer, what do im gotta do?

Joey, be sure to try mesh in the veritas. I tried it and it is awesome. I'd have kept it but I have a marquis coming and also looking forward to trying the bonsai. Enjoy the Peko and let me know if you need anything bud!

You're miraculous tom. I'm over 8 hours deep with nothing to show. Grubs nor stock screws hold my wire well and when I do get a build it has unusable hot legs x.x

I tried wrapping around the screws and still can't get rid of hot legs. I'll keep trying but I'm a sloth. Just hoping when I do get it right the flavors not muted. I can't see any reason the flavor would suffer...all lights are green for killer flavor.

Send a picture of your build around positive and negative screws. There's no reason you should get hot legs with that build and it will definitely be super stable if done correctly.

Don't over think the Remm. After you wrap your coils bend them out just a little so they Mage a slight "V". Leave wires long, insert the positive side first, rotate the negative down into position and it will snap into its terminal, tighten the negative, repeat on the other coil, tighten the positive, cut off excess kanthal. I didn't have hot legs from the start.

Don't over think it. The rem is exactly what it is... A top air derringer, nothing more, nothing less.

******Warning: unless you decide to use grubs take a resistance reading WITH your drip tip installed before using on a reo or tmod or any other device that doesn't have protection from shorts.********

I've been seeing the mesh trend with the Marquis, I'll for sure have to give that a go. Although I'll probably be hitting you up for sure when the time comes. I know little to nothing about mesh. I had a very short stint with gennies before getting frustrated and moving along. Lol, Peko will be here tomorrow, can't wait to load it up and put it to use. Thanks again bro! I'll be messaging you as soon as it gets here to let you know it made it safe.

I take it I'm the only one with air slots on the very top of the Manta v2 top cap that do not line up with the air holes? When mine is screwed down it lines up exactly in the middle of two air slots. So basically I end up with willy nilly airflow from whatever air is leaking into the top cap.

I hear you on not overthinking brother but there's something to our troubles...I think there's either a huge QC issue or somethings just not right. Ohms appear steady on an ohm reader but when I wiggle a leg the coil wobbles. If I tighten the positive aaaaalllll the way down, without fail, every time, at least one of the leads slips up beside of the screw. It's semi tight and reads fine but I don't believe that's cool. Maybe I'm wrong...

The hot legs thing is just my own troubles...maybe another day. Next week.

Crossing my fingers a D hangs on til Friday though. Woodville gonna need a topper
