Okay I get it now thanks. I have a few of those same DT's so I get the size now.
Those are probably ALL the wrong one.
A new 22mm Reactor just came out recently. It's just another atty...

The Catfish Reactor is a tiny little thing...and there's only one, an authentic Madz Modz.
Here's mine. I know - drip tip selection is pure genious. The combo is SOLID - feels like a hunk of steel with a couple coils deep inside somwhere...

I'm not sure what to think on the 7068/7050 aluminum. I like the fact that it would be lighter, but will it really be a better conductor than SS or brass that we are using now? If so, why hasn't anyone used this material yet? I will agree that some atty's make the REO a little top heavy, but I don't use any of those, so it's not a problem for me. The only ones I know of that are that top heavy are the Magma, Veritas, and the Marquis so far... I don't seem to have any problems with my Mephisto's and certainly the Derringer doesn't really effect the top heaviness of the grand. Besides, aren't you using those gaudy overpriced blocks of metal from Tom for your top heavy atty's... Seems like they wouldn't be a problem on one of those...

And where is this 22mm Reactor that seems to be illusive in my google-fu? Can't seem to find it anywhere...

I thing Muzic is right, there probably wouldn't be much of an improvement conductivity wise by going to an aluminum body...there's enough mass (circular mill area) and surface contact via the 510 threads where SS or aluminum would be a comparable conductor. Where you'd notice the difference is in the pos pin. By the time you take a 3-4mm SS pin, then dill a hole in it you lose a lot of material, with SS being way down the preferred conductor list already, then take away even more of it's mass by bf'ing it...that's why I go with marine brass and copper (unless you're like Tom and can taste it, I can't)...no lead and verdigris inside the bore hole can't happen because it's not exposed to the atmosphere.

What keeps it from being exposed to the atmosphere Quigs?

I'm also considering implementing high strength aluminum (7075, 7050, 7068) into the decks and caps for weight reduction and better conductivity.

Disclaimer: I am not an expert in machining nor chemistry!

However, I am thinking if you are concerned about copper in the juice stream, Aluminium should concern you as well. There is a reason that they don't use copper or aluminium hardware to repair broken bones. Thus SS, Titanium or Ceramic is used most of the time.

An Titanium atty would be light, very strong, expensive (I guess) and a PITA to drill, threading and such. I own 2 Titanium atties (Achilles and Prometey). The weight to strength ratio on those is downright astonishing.

Food for thought perhaps?

Cheers.

Gaudy & Overpriced because you couldn't get one without the center bar on the squonk hole... just curious.

No, just gaudy and overpriced. I do think the center bar through the bottle adds tremendously to the gaudy look though. Just my opinion... I don't care for having to use a wrench to change out the battery or to refill the bottle either. Seems like a waste of time. Again, just my opinion.... I had never intended to purchase one, was only inquiring so that maybe someone else had an option, if it presented itself. I had seen a post somewhere that someone didn't care for the look of it and didn't understand why it was there. I think it was from his original post when he built the first one and posted it in the modder's section of the forum. My belief is its there because he wants it there and that is it. There are several devices that have the face of the bottle open and they squonk just fine, but for some reason, his doesn't... This is in no way intended to be a slam or anything against Tbev but whatever works for him, and if he can find people to sell them to it's all the better, for him...just not for me...
