Tom has talked about a CAM1 for months. He has the design which I'm sure is awesome! Know he was close at one point but had machine shop issues. Just do it!!;) But first I'd like my CAM mod!:D

CAM1 List

1. Magaro

can't hurt to try :)

Been playing with a Velocity RDA for the past couple of hours and I’m in love.

Spent 5 or 6 minutes building it (0.45 ohm, dual Claptons, Japanese cotton), part of that time marveling over how blinking simple it is to build with the dead bottom set screws and the dual hole positive and negative posts. You couldn’t clip a coil lead if you tried (maybe with pure lead wire, but you’d be dead soon, anyways). Wicks need to be long to reach the bottom of the juice well.

vaping it: the air hole adjustment is perfect. Tighten the atty on your mod and then twist the top sleeve to find your preference. The bottom (inner) sleeve is locked in place, so no fighting with it - spin the top sleeve CW or CCW and nothing loosens up. Find your preferred draw, set it, and forget it. Cloud chase, flavor chase - it spans the range of what I’m looking for.

This thing is damn near perfect for me so far. I really want a killer BF version of this, Tom.
Send me one... I will do it. I already did mine, I haven't coiled it yet though. Looks like it would be very power hungry or very cold.

I have had so many ideas for the CAM series it makes my head spin. I hate to divulge my concepts as to have them taken but the one I'm currently thinking about is a 14mm single coil half scale Marquis with Genesis option and the ability to raise and lower your juice hole to suit your needs. This hasn't been done as far as I'm aware. Genesis needs a higher hole to keep the mesh soaked where cotton needs a lower hole to maintain a damp wick. The Marquis BF that I have produced in both clone and authentic is a hybrid of the two. I have given up on the 16-18mm idea that I was so passionate about. There are so few devices that it would be ideal on it would be better produced by Rob as it would be Reo lp specific.

I have learned a lot of lessons from Praxis both in their successes as well as their failures. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunities that I have had with Praxis.. That said, I will be carrying the Derringer2 but I won't be modding it. You can draw your own conclusions as to why. I will say this: I was asked to consult on the D2 and I Obliged. In the short run I realize that consultation will be akin to cutting my own throat but in the long run I see it paying of on a large scale in the long run.

Enough rambling....

Its like the BF pin for the Origen, feeding way up, off the deck.
Does anybody know if the Origen pin can be drilled to feed at deck level?

It can, I have done a few of them drilled 3mm of the deck for that hybrid effect. The Origen BF pin is a several leveled failure but the sheep keep buying it so Norbert keeps making it. Deadly cycle.... IMO even on a Genesis BF the pin should never be more than halfway between the deck and the air hole. Nor should any 22mm atty have a squonk hole smaller than a 1/16. Nor vents smaller than. #55.

I will take you up on that offer, kind sir. And I'll even send along one of the Avid BF center posts once it gets here.

I vaped mine on my Sigelei 150 last night at high wattage, so didn't notice anything about it being power hungry. :) Will explore it more this weekend.

The Velocity is an extremely versatile device from the ease of build to the infinite adjustments abilities with the air flow. You can blow enormous clouds or just enjoy the flavor. Unlike smaller atties ( e.g., the Derringer) it provides an ample deck to throw any kind of build on it and it will take you very little time and effort. Top it off with secure connections would make it just perfect for tc devices and the build quality is just immaculate.

I'd also be down with an authentic Manta V2. My biggest knock against my clone is that the top cap is super tight even with a juice lube.
That's a problem? IMO,that's the sign of a properly made clone. Remember the Vertex 2nd round? As I recall yours waited to ship so long that you never had to deal with the sloppy cap.

Penny for your thoughts?

I'm pretty sure even I could do a nickel build on this one.

Yeah, it's so tight that the top cap can't fully seat down onto the base. And when I have it down as far down as possible, it actually takes all my strength to remove the top cap. I could probably take a 50lb sand bag and dangle it off the 510 connector and it wouldn't budge. It's seriously on there. Don't get me wrong, I like it tight but not turn your face blue tight. I'll toss the base into a chuck and shave a little bit of it off with some sandpaper or something.

Third try, nailed it!

Flavor on this Manta went off the charts with this build! I had two air holes open on each side, almost too much flavor with the joose I have loaded. A juice I normally cut with unflavored, but it's at full strength today and it's intense in this atty like this!!

My posts are kinda screwy, had to bend my leads a certain way to be able to get the coils close to the posts.
One of the o-rings on my top cap came shredded to pieces, but extras were in the box so it's all good now. The cap fit is super super tight, but I can live with that.
This is my first 2 post atty, and it was easier to build on than I thought it would be.

I too, would be interested in an authentic Manta buy!!

Tight is better, but yes mine, is also super tight. I ripped the 510 out of an old (non working) ohm meter.
If it doesn't loosen up with use, I'll remove the lower o-ring or use some fine sandpaper on the o-rings.
I don't want to sand the base. It could just be out of spec o-rings.
