The V3 Hobo has a very similar deck. Looks like a dual post design is the new deal.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to need a Hobo V3 as well as the new EM atty. From what I've read, Hoberto will be offering BF pins for the Hobo V3. Likely, they won't work as well as a Catfish'd pin but I'm looking forward to seeing one.

Derringer came in today! Ran home to get it out of the mailbox. Still somewhat new to the rebuild-able scene, I'm going to wait until I have some time to properly sit down with it. In-laws are in town visiting so prob not until late tonight.

Thanks Tom!

Tight is better, but yes mine, is also super tight. I ripped the 510 out of an old (non working) ohm meter.
If it doesn't loosen up with use, I'll remove the lower o-ring or use some fine sandpaper on the o-rings.
I don't want to sand the base. It could just be out of spec o-rings.
I use a food safe silicone named Keg Butter on all O-Rings. Amazing stuff! Available on Amazon.

Squonking reconsidered

Dripping on a Velocity RDA again tonight. Still love the flavor and clouds it can produce. Amazed by the precision machining tolerances on the air flow components. While staring at the design of this atty, I can’t help but wonder if there may be some value to the BF center post Avid Vaper is selling (mine won’t arrive until Fri or Sat).

Clearly, it won’t siphon juice back into the bottle until there’s so much juice in the well that it won’t matter. But I vape a lot of NETs. They quickly gunk up my coils and wicks, and the juice in the well gets “seasoned” by this gunk as well. With a proper squonking atty, that means my juice bottle ends up getting “seasoned”, which really isn’t a plus in my book. Perhaps the Velocity BF “snorkel” center post has some benefit in this case. You can feed the very deep juice well, and nothing will end up getting siphoned back into your bottle. Vape it ’til it’s gone, and then feed in more fresh juice. When the coil gets gunky, dry burn/rewick/repeat. Could be a little tricky to manage for a squonk newb like me, but I’m willing to give it a try.

I still plan to send Tom a Velocity next week to do a proper BF mod. I also vape unflavored eliquid during the day, and really want a righteous hot rod squonk atty for that. But I think I’ll play around with the snorkel center post for a bit to see if it has any value.

A Catfish'd Derringer trio... V1, V1.2, and V1.3. If it isn't obvious, the CH Derringer is my favorite atty by a significant margin.

how are people with the marquis clone fixing the positive capture that doesn't capture?

i have a single coil in it atm, not a big fan of the vape, but having paid $45 i'm determined to get duals working on it
Never had an issue with it. I go half way across the crown and double back on each coil. Never an issue. I have experimented with different hardware and I found Allen hex cap screws work well. M2 x 5mm work well
