CE2 cartos in PIF

Should we allow them to offered in the PIF thread? This poll will run for 2 days. You all will have to live with whatever the majority decides. If they are allowed in and they dont' work or you don't like the glue taste, you are the ones that will have to deal with it, not the mods. All votes are private so please be honest.

Feel free to discuss here as well.

Sorry, but I think they should be left out until the bugs are worked out completely. I know some of you may have had good luck with them, but there also plenty of reported issues with them. I'm sure it won't take the manufacturers long to correct the issue and then they can be added.

The sample of the very first release that the folks at V4L kindly provided me was actually interesting, given I wasn't trying out for a cheech and chong movie.

The manufacturer has undoubtedly been seeking to improve the product based on feedback. Unfortunately, there have been far too many changes in the brief span of time these have been released for me to have any belief that the changes have been thought through.

There ought to be a timeout, to see if the latest/greatest/super-duper product is really OK. I don't mean just by users -- the manufacturer really ought to do a bit of analysis, figure out just what it is they are now producing, come out with paper telling the community that it really is a) functioning, and b) safe.

I'm not entirely sure how I want to vote now

On the one hand, I purchased several to share, and I know there are a lot of people that would like to try "one", without having to commit to buying a large amount.

On the other hand, having not purchased directly from the company, I am not entirely sure which "model" I bought. The problems did not seem contained to one entire batch, but rather sporadic. I'd hate to send out something that is bad.

i heard the glue problem was only with one batch and they dont make them like that anymore. So once this batch is out they wont be the same glue problem. Ive also heard people talking about that chemical smell....thats primer...the same as on our atomizers. You can wash it out, let it sit or vape through it.

Although I understand the concerns and appreciate ya'll watching out for us.. In the end it is an individual's choice to take an offer with these cartomizers in it or not.. Maybe having those making the offer put up somekind of 'problems reported with these types of cartos' would be fairer for all..

I'm just not big into people trying to decide what is and what is not good/bad for me.. I prefer to listen/read the advice on things and make the final decisions myself...which is btw what I have done and I have chosen to wait till ya'll approve of them but still feel it is an individual's choice to accept or not accept an offer with these cartos in them period!!

It's not the primer. I've refilled a couple of them and the smell and taste persist. If it's not glue, it's something in there causing it.

It's best just to wait this out and make sure the manufacturer stabilizes and puts out something consistent. They are still making modifications and it seems they are still testing, so I'm all in favor of waiting until they get it right.

It's not just about us telling you what you can or cannot do. Yes, we do want everyone to be safe and have a working product. But where do you all go when a trade is not what you wanted or expected. You go to the mods. We are the ones that have to deal with the fallout when things don't go right. You can't blame us for a) wanting things to be safe and in working order and b) not wanting to deal with all of the complaints about them when they aren't. While we, the mods, are thinking about the big picture, you all are just thinking about yourselves and not caring what everyone else has to go thru. That makes me so sad.

Here's the thing, and I swore I'd never touch this topic, so I'm not gonna say much. I got a few samples, there was no doubt I was inhaling glue, I sent one to a friend, they felt the same way. Another person asked for one despite what's out there about them. I sent it. You know people wanna see for themselves, and I can't say I blame them, had I not tried one I'd be dying to get my hands on one.

Then you've got people who say they can mod them several ways, boil out the glue, whatever. So I'm mixed, on it. I just feel whatever the outcome, everyone knows in advance what's going on, and as long as it doesn't directly effect PIF then it doesn't directly affect me. I have a choice if they're sitting there for the taking, no one's forcing me. I kinda almost feel it'll have more of an adverse effect on PIF if banned.

I have 2 packs that I bought last month, and so far I have tried 1 from each pack. They have worked great for me. I can't speak for anyone that has had older ones, or some that don't work right, but mine have been working fine.
Either way I will be getting more.

I kinda have to agree with Jules here.I dont think its very fair how people go running to the mods every time they have an issue.Its a forum and you choose who you trade with and what you trade.Its not up to the mods to get in the middle of every little problem or dispute.Its not a supplier situation.If people dealt with things better it wouldnt be an issue.It can be a big headache for the mods.

I'm not so sure about that. Mine smelled REALLY funky when I first took it out. I was very concerned that I had just purchased six packs of glue cartos. Someone suggested that I remove the top, and let it air out, or boil it. I did just that.
I let it sit for several hours, and then smelled it again.. no funky smell. I followed the directions for filling, and have been vaping it ever since. There has not been a funny smell OR taste.

It's IMHO, that one did NOT have glue. NOW.. do the others? I dunno? and I don't know how one would really know or not. Are the glue ones marked with a certain date? Are they a certain color? Or are they sporadically mixed throughout the good ones? I really have no idea.

So there lies the dilemma (for me anyway)

Thank you again Jules, and also for letting us discuss this issue. Please don't be upset, or discouraged. We are just chatting, weighing the pros and cons. Last I checked, the vote was split.
I don't think anyone wants you and Toni (and joker too) to be held accountable. Nor would we want anyone to be sujected to anything bad or dangerous.
I still believe we have an immensely caring group.

I dont understand why anyone would run to a mod over this. Ive gotten juice that i didnt like or didnt have the same amount the offer-er said it did. I never ran to a mod for that. It should be a taker beware thing where mods arent involved.Allow us to decide whether to offer or accept what we want and what kind of risk we are willing to take. A mod should never be involved inless someone didnt sent a pif or didnt send what they said they would. And thats only after youve tried to handle it yourself.

Never have i even thought to PM/email anyone about problems I have on forums/boards that I go to when selling/trading/etc. with people on the boards. When I stated the way I feel on the matter, I wasn't thinking about how others react to bad deals by taking their problems to you all, so please understand I wasn't trying to make you sad nor undermind the work you all do behind the scenes.. No, I can't blame ya'll for A & B at all now that I know about it!!! Still it should be an individuals choice in the end..

even then the mods can't really do jack about it!!! so no point in going to them then either - that's what the negative thread is for to alert other "traders" to beware.

all mods can really do is to remove ppl from the particular forums or off the site completely in the case of admins (and only in extreme circumstances), move threads and stuff like that.

the only way mods should be involved w/ the trades is by keeping tally on the negative thread of that particular forum (too bad there's not a more discreet way that would make it easier on mods but such is life) other than that they shouldn't have to be put through the hassle.

we're all adults here and in most instances we can either work things out ourselves or agree to disagree and put each other on our ignore lists. as far as PIFs and trades go we ask for stuff sight unseen so we get what we get. doesn't always work out the best because there are some that would take advantage, but, i'm sorry to say, that's just life. all we can do is be adults about it and do what we can in a mature way in which we keep our own dignity.

thank you for looking out for our well being, Jules. I hope that people can see that you're asking them to hold off on trading out of concern and not out of anything maliciousness. I think it's very unfortunate that something so minuscule could turn out like this.

I do think that anyone who does want to share and try them could swap them in PMs until the kinks are worked out by the manufacturer. Just my

no one said u were just a mod jules - just that u'r job shouldn't b made harder by everyone bugging u w/ every little thing. we're adults, we can put our mature hats on and deal w/ things like adults too - the responsibility isn't all u'rs - we can carry some as well and be responsible for ourselves a little bit too.

edit: and for the record, i don't use cartos so don't think i even have a right to vote on the matter so haven't. I'm just reminding everyone that we're all adults and don't need to make u'r life harder.
