well one that I posted is kinda whistle tip, but it seems to be full opening, so I might try that for the vision. aluminum isn't going to work for me especially since I put the tip between my teeth, helps save the teeth a bit from becoming discolored.
Yeah, if you put the tip between you teeth, metal would be kinda inappropriate. I have caps. Just the idea makes me shudder.
Well, try the delrin one, see it if makes any difference.
My personal experience is this, FWIW:
I had used regular run-of-the-mill hard-plastic CE2s for a short while before I found Fluxes. I wasn't unhappy with them - they wicked well for me. Because of all the reviews, I was extremely paranoid about cracking (I
hate dealing with leaking juice) though. I didn't like the messy looking glue on the bottom. And I hated the completely transparent plastic tubes aesthetically. I love the idea of being able to see the juice, but those glass-clear tubes remind me of hospital IVs, and once you use it for a bit, the innards start looking cruddy. Those were the initial reasons I switched to Fluxes. But, no, I didn't get condensation in my mouth with those for some reason.
When I started using Fluxes two months ago, not only the little rubber tip that comes with them burned my lips awfully, but also I was constantly getting juice in my mouth. Once I switched to the separately bought drip tips (of all varieties, pawns, vases, whistles...), I never once got juice in my mouth except for once when I was trying out an unsuccessful mod which was leaky if you tilted it past horizontal.
I can't venture a guess as to why the old CE2s didn't cause condensation to get into the mouth, or why the drip tips work so well for me to prevent this in Fluxes. We might as well call it magic (unless and until someone comes up with an explanation), and just go by empirical evidence. Parenthetically, I suspect it has something to do with the geometry of the condensation surfaces, how size of the tip relates to temperature gradient and therefore the speed of condensation and other such things.
I can tell you that the simple mod I described in the other thread works excellently with a drip tip. I use a Ming with it, and it even looks cool. I am going to order an 801 tip shortly, and see if it works as well.
