Here's my rant:

No matter what it is, it is going to really suck. Period. No if's and's or butts. Economically, how much money is generated by each new revision. Each revision generates a surge of sales. If it was ever perfected the sales would stay steady and inherently the price would have to drop. ALL REVISIONS come from the end user making their own modifications. What really happens is that the general concept is released and the user IS THE R&D department. Not only do YOU pay in $$ for the product, you also provide FREE R&D until the next crappy version is released. I have personally never tried a cartomizer in any of it's forms.

Is it me, or does anybody else thing it's ridiculous to have ce2 v. 1-5 or whatever, ceramic, metal, giantomizer (stupid a#$ name) maximizer, I mean come on. How many versions of the same crappy idea can you come out with.

As many have already stated, especially pbusardo, in no other industry would anybody ever accept this pure negligent engineering and product development, and performance that we do. I will never buy any type of cartomizer product period.

Whatever it is, will have to work straight out the box, or I will (unwillingly) have to create a simple mod to make it work. I'm not going to buy the same thing over and over and hope and pray that it works. It's just wrong, and unethical and I won't let go of $1 in support of that.

End rant:

Can't say I disagree w/ you, many feel the same way. I don't know if we'll ever get anything mass produced in China that's ready out of the box. With some simple mods most of these products are good but not everyone is able/willing to do so.

@ the poster who's looking for the clear Kangers; GotVapes will have them before long.

Take all this for what it's worth -- my experience with no attempt at technical analysis:

I tried the flux..... and loved the idea but didn't like the fact that the tubes came loose so that when I screwed them on the battery they'd spin, breaking the wires.

The Cleartomizers(sp?) worked better for me, but whether that's because they're made differently or because I learned my lesson about tightening them, I can't say.

When disecting one with broken wires, I examined the wicking. It seems to be silica, so that gave me an idea -- I took one which wasn't tasting so well because of crud on the coil and hooked it up to a 3V power source and let it burn everything off. The silicone washer holding the cup in place took a hit (scorched beyond belief), but a quick rinse with iso alc (plungered through the hole at the battery end) washed the coil clean so it looks like new. It also tastes like new.

I've done that three times now with three Clear and two regular CE2s, and they're all performing as well as new. I know the wicking will eventually break down, but the life has been extended amazingly.

Someone mentioned lack of solder on a new model reducting the cost -- I doubt it will because they're most likely welding the wires on, and the time and equipment costs for that are comperable to soldering.

I made the mistake of ordering 5 boxes of Clearomizers from Gotvapes when they first came out, believing all the stuff about, "we worked with the factory to make sure no primer is used, oh these are wonderful"... Nope, disgusting. They even sent like 3 out of 5 boxes wrong ohm/type or something and when I said something to them I got offered a discount on my next order, yet had no reason to order anything again.

I don't think you could pay me to try a CE2/3 whatever. I even tried a syringe mod and that was vapeable, but still a slight off taste and it got foul after a few fillings. Just get Ikenvape cartos and forget all this CE gimmick crap. I have no complaint whatsoever about IKV cartos and they work at least a week without needing cleaned, probably more really.

Things that make you go "hmmmmm".

One can hope.

One of the problems I had with the CE2's was the coil on the top and the vape being too hot. Of course, it's a taste issue- others like it like that.

AMEN BROTHER!!!!!

The whole explosion of the ce2 has completely killed my enthusiasm for this forum and vaping. Whenever I ranted like you did, I got reprimanded by the admins. This is actually the first time i've been on ecf for a long time. I really wish people would wake up and consider how much the vaping experience could be improved if they didn't buy into these crappy companies that are banking of advertising crappy products. Some of the most successful vaping vendors and absolute crooks!

Since I started vaping this has happened time after time. The hype that people on ECF give products essentially kills all quality control of that product. Cisco atties for instance used to be AMAZING. The last 2 shipments I got of 4 atties were TERRIBLE. The vendor even admitted there were "production issues". He seemed like a somewhat legit dude but the bottom line is that I wasted a lot of money on piss poor product. Whether he is riding the hype wave and producing a product of lower quality cannot be proven but it is a trend that I have seen OVER AND OVER. The more I see how these vendors do business the more I'm disillusioned with vaping.

I love buying things and I love trying out different gadgets. I've never had even close to as much difficulty with vendors as I have with vaping vendors. After trying about 50+ e-cig vendors I honestly would only recommend a few and as far as integrity there is only 1 vendor that I have dealt with that I can say is outstanding and thats Kick bass vapor. They are a shining example of what a good ecig vendor should be. It's a shame that we have so many greedy .......s taking advantage of fellows vapors enthusiasm for vaping.

I'm going to listen to some enya now o_O

Everything that RoyalSmoker pops out seems to be half pure gold, and half dud. For example:

The ce2 r4 clearomizers tasted better than any other carto, held plenty of juice, and can be cleaned very easily. HOWEVER: Several of them tasted like plastic until modded, they are fragile, and they "gurgle."
The Giantomizer (yeah I bought one) holds a ton of juice, is NOT fragile, and utilizes the same stuff as the ce2, HOWEVER: The first fill doesn't wick and tastes like primer, It STILL GURGLES no matter how much or how little juice is in there, or if you hold it upright, upside-down, sideways, whatever; still gurgles. And it does not taste as good as the other ce2's. Lastly the window leaks if you don't silicone/cement/superglue it.

Great in theory, sucks in practice. Still better than trying to use a VG juice with a polyfil carto.

I love the clearos I got from madvapes. No idea what iteration they are. They work great, and taste good...all except my current favorite juice. For some reason about every other puff tastes like socks. It's a Dekang, so it shouldn't be too thick or anything. No idea why. So if the new bottom coil version is the same only easier to fill I will be a happy camper. I can not stand polyfil, and every thing else, save dripping (which is entirely too messy for me), involves polyfil...I'll take socks over burnt pillows any day.

Those are Vortex and that's just the name they gave the Kanger ones, as they are working closely with them on the development.

That's BS...they aren't working closely with anybody...they just bought the order that was denied by another vender because all of the issues haven't been fixed.

I have been cutting the loops in the CE-2 since the first one I got. I drove up to COV to pick up some Syringe Mods before the CE-2 Clears came in. The first thing I did was take the outer tube off and cut them. I've also found that if you also unravel the 3 wicks on each side and essentially make one big wick it works really good. I just don't know how to stop from eventually getting the burnt taste. After the first fill is used up and I am at the point where its time to refill its already full of carbon build up and no matter what I do I can only reduce that taste by about 50%. You wouldn't happen to have any tips on how to make it better than that would you?
Mai i suggest you after cutting tube remove the upper part of the black silicone
Then you lay the c2r4 in boiled water as are cold down to handwarm before you heat anything
Let it stay for at least 24 hours. Best at about 50 60 degrees celsius if possible. Change water a couples of time
Then dry for at least 8 hours
Then burn the wicks on a propanheater
Then a dryburn
Put on the syringe and then 1 hour in the freezer
Use the cartomizer only 1 day and then repeat treatment
For me i have 15 in cirkulation and right it cost some time
You can see on used wicks its the sugar from the base as makes the troubles
For a couples of month ago i did post this as solve the problem http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/search.php?searchid=3132042
But i cannot find silica wicks in europe as same quality as Royal Smokers

I'm w/ you; can't do polyfill anymore, tastes bad!

Yeah same here. I can't stand the polyfill. Then again I have been using the same ten CE2r4s since Oct 11. Never burn't or cleaned any of them. About half of them wick reasonably well. The one's that wick I use away from home and the rest I drip with at home.

The Go carto has the coils on the bottom and they work great but they only work with Go-Go battery. No burnt taste at all. I think the bottom coils is definately the way to go. I don't know if I will ever try a ce2 version though after my experience with the Giantomizer. The first hits on that thing still make me sick thinking about it after the first ml the taste got better but it leaked also. The 3 ml carto on the Go-Go works great though and one third the price.

But it has polyfill right? If so I'm out but I'm glad it's working well for you and others. In the end that's what it's all about, what works for you.

Yeah the only polyfil carto that I can stomach these days is the IKV gold v2, and only with PG based juices and tobacco/menthol flavors. For VG juice or anything fruity nutty candy, I've got to use the ce2. So I'm one of those people that will try every version they come up with until they make something worth using 100% of the time, out of the box without fail.
