So, I am having a good series of days.........................

I dont know what happened to my CE3s, they were working fine and the other day; I let some soak in water for a bit (which I never do), washed them out and let them air dry (which I never do) and then pulled some out to refill for tomorrow. One won't fire, one is firing and then not firing and seems fried too. I am to annoyed too really try another one. Additionally, I can't seem to get any of them to work on my manual. It just flashes a few times. I moved the post and nothing.

I have had these for about a month..............I guess they might be dead but it would be awesome if someone could give me some Frankenstein sh*& to get them up and running again. If soaking in vodka, or completely breaking down the CE3s and dry burning or one before the other or anything.

These are getting one shot to work and then it is off to the ole faithful credit card.............

EDIT: for the record - $2 for one month is amazing. I am just seeing if I can make it $2 for 2 months

I agree with Blucat.
It soudns like a contact problem. When I do a "deep clean" I completly disamble and put it in an ultrasonic cleaner filled with vodka and then dry burn until the coils glow (a series of shrot 2 second bursts) without even letting them dry completely first. If they can withstand that agressive cleaning then a soft soak shouldn't harm them.

I'd let them dry completely to see if the CE3's post is shorting to the case, if you have an ohm meter I'd meter them out and if nothing is found then I'd try adjusting the post slightly.

I think it may be time for a good ole vodka soak and dry burn with a complete disassemble.........They "were" working on the manual just fine and I tried to make some adjustments and the manual still blinks about 5 times when I push the button.

I soaked these in water only and then cleaned them out. If that doesnt work, I have a good number of others so EHHHH.

Still a bargain at $2, even if I don't bring them back from the light at the end of the tunnel.

That they are. I still have 3 from 2 months ago. I dry burned 2 of them once. I have broke 2, my fault. I spend about 10 bucks a day on lunch. So to me defintely a bargain.

I just told the misses that i will pack 1 day a week, to save some cash and have more for vaping. Well i like to think that anyway. I am hoping SI comes out with that beefier fatbat soon.

I managed to bring a totally encrusted coil back from the dead using 91% Isopropyl Alcohol:

Total dismantle
Soak coil and air tube in IA for 24 hours
Flush with hot tap water
Dry burn 2-3 times
Soak coil in IA for 24 hours
Flush with hot tap water
Adjust battery contact if needed

I've not seen any problems with the IA attacking the coil seal, wicks or plastic tube. Just make sure you completely flush the IA out with hot water prior to dry burn or juice fill. I use a lot of IA in my modeling hobby and have it sitting around all the time. 70% IA won't cut the crud. You'll need 91%-available at your local Wally World. I'm not sure how the IA compares to a vodka soak but at least with the vodka, you can accidently spill some in your mouth during the process. YMMV

It’s amazing how rugged these “disposable” CE3’s are.
I have several in use that have been going strong for about 2 months now which have been put through the cleaning / dry burn ringer.

Sitting down, facing forward.
I've started soaking them in vodka, Smirnoff 'cause I don't want to waste Absolut. I let them soak for about a day, then rinse, let them air dry, reassemble and dry burn. I'm down to nine from my original twenty. I did break one, gave one away, had some bad ones right out of the box and have "retired" the balance as no longer working. Given the price and how often I refill them, like every other day or so, I'm not complaining about them at all, and I've never had the "wonderful flavor" that the Nano gave me fram a CE3. There were some primer taste issues, but a simple wash takes care of that. When these go I'll be looking at other alternatives.

I ma waiting on the elusive T3. I'll give those a shot. I am hoping for a ce3 blow out sale. Then I will grab a bunch of packs. Personally I have gotten used to the syringe fill. Just my wifes funny looks is the only issue. Well she has been giving me those since we started dating. I guess I did something right way back then.

I am not a big fan of those tip styles on the Clearos and the nano. I prefer the CE3 out of the box.

I think that I am going to go with the vodka personally. I know where the booze store is but I would hate to waste 4 hours looking for the higher proof IA. Plus, I would drink vodka if I still had some in there but you can't ingest IA.

I dry burned two clearos just recently, this was a first attept at any real dry burning and one of them smells like burnt a&*. I guess I have to re-do it but the others are working fine.

I am not really all that mechanical so I get a little nervous about doing any of this stuff. Fortunately, if I mess them up, I can easily get more. Thanks for the help guys!!

i did that too. The dry burning part. It tasted like what you were smelling too. I rinsed with cheap vodka and then soaked it over night. Seemed to get rid of it. Man it was nasty tasting.

It's good to see you taking the plunge into dry burning. The way I figured is if I destroy the CE I really haven't lost anything because with the gunked up coils it was a gonner anyways unless I got the gunk off.

What works for me is a series of short 2 sec bursts with a couple of seconds inbetween until I just start to see the coil glow. I haven't destroyed one yet, but I'm sure I will.

Alike minds think great Harplayr.

I dont mind if I trash these and practice will make perfect. I was a little more reluctant on the clearos but I dont really like them anyway. I am not going to be an early adopter on the T-3. I think I am going to sit back and see what everyone says but if they are liked.....I may replace my clearos with those. The clearos are too much work for me and I only use them at home and in the office to keep refilling other stuff to a minimum.

So, please give me some final help......more of a double-check or "looking over my homework" so to speak. I just want to make sure that what I am doing is right and I am not missing a step. I tried to be detailed to make sure that if I miss a small detail (which I am known for) someone will see it.

1. I took my CE3s apart last night, completely and they are currently soaking in vodka.

2. Tonight, I am going to rinse them out with water to flush them and put the tube back on the barrel of the CE3s

3. I am going to dry burn them on a manual battery, with short 2-3 second burst until the coil glows red.

4. I am then going to soak them, yet again in vodka for another 24 hours and then assemble and hope for the best.

Sounds like a good plan to me, and more than I do as I don't soak for that long.
The only caution is to dry burn untill you can just see the coils turn orange...too much and you risk burning the wick.

That is good information.............that is the part I am nervous about.

I also forgot the flush with water after the second soak part in my step by step (see, I forget small details).

If the general thoughts are to only soak them once, that is all that I will do. I thought I was going to rip the top off my battery getting the tubes off but we are all good.

I've onlt soak them once and usually for 24 hours or more. Like HarPlayr said, be careful with the dry burn. I usually stop once the "smoke" stops coming off them, but I have also taken them to a very dull red or arange with no problem. There is a point when cleaning them no longer works. I think the wicks may become worn out since the ones that have gotten to that point with me just don't produce vapor even though they continue to get warm when used.
