Hi,

I have been using the ordinary ce4 clearos for the past 7 months or so... and while theyre good... I do find they sometimes leak a bit, and you get that horrible burned taste, anything between a week, to a month into use............

I was wondering about the wickless rebuildable ce5 clearos.............. Cartomisers and Atomisers - CE5 Plus - CE5 Rebuildable Wickless Clearo - 2 Pack

has anyone used them?

would they be much of an improvement? are they less prone to leakage / burning taste? wiyqw

They are basically the same as the CE4 except U can change the wick/atomizer ($2 each) for a lil cheaper cost as a new disposable CE4 ($3.49)

ok... but what makes them "wickless" then?

I always assumed it was the wick that gave the burned taste - because when I take them apart afterwards, I usually find a scortched piece of string inside

I haven't used that clearo myself. Wickless generally refers to a straight atomizer, but don't know the particular model you listed. The wick is to get the e-liquid to a coil, but an atomizer only required the e-liquid to saturate it to atomize the juice. I'm sure someone who has used this product can tell you exactly what's going on.

Ce5 + has long slots on either side of the coil unit with filler similar to a carto. They are great for beginners as this was my 1st clearomizer flavor and vapor is good if you take long slow drags. I would suggest and evod bcc instead they are bottom coil cooler vapes but produce nice flavor and plumes of vapor. I moved from ce5 to evods and we're using them exclusively for a few months until recently got a rba and don't think I will go back lol

ok thanks everyone for the replies so far. I suppose for the cost its worth trying a few different things! I'm just sick of the burned taste I seem to keep getting. Ive worked out how to clean them pretty well, which can get rid of the burned taste, but lasts anything from a day, to a few weeks............. but often, once its gone all burny, then theres no getting it back.

ive not heard of the evod bcc before - but ill be sure to check it out.

Sticking with the same website Cartomisers and Atomisers - CE4 Plus - CE4 Plus 1.6ml Rebuildable Clearo

Your website list ce4+ (also rebuildable) as the same product many call ce5 or ce6. If you look through the pics, you will see it looks like your ce4 when assembled except the bottom has an extra textured areas which unscrews. One of those pics shows the fully disassembled state. Notice the part where the wick and coil is comes off the rest, this is called the head. You can just buy replacement heads or search this forum for directions on rebuilding them yourself (you will need kanthal a1 wire and silica wick) for super cheap.

There are other rebuildables, even on that site. Most brand names I see are rebuildable with the difference being more likely where the wicks are on the stem.

oh - I know where you're looking - but the ones I have been buying are not rebuildable - Cartomisers and Atomisers - Clearomisers - CE4 XL Clearos - 2.5 - 2.9ohm - 3 Pack

I may switch to the rebuildable type soon though... it sounds like a hell of a lot of hassle to rebuild them myself tho?!

This gets confusing as different vendors name them differently. For most, the CE5 is the same as a CE4 except that the CE5 comes apart so you can easily clean or replace the wick and coil. I use both. The CE5s have the advantage of quicker drying after cleaning because the wick will be exposed to the air. CE4s take 2-3 days to dry...the CE5 dries overnight. Also, you save $$$ by just changing the head instead of a whole new clearomizer.

The wickless version is usually called a nano. If that is indeed the case, it's a whole different animal. Bottom coil not top. Filler material like a cartomizer. Usually hard to clean...more of a single juice disposable.
