Good Prophets has a poll running entitled Is the name "Good Prophets" offensive to anyone?

I don't find it offensive but I did post on his forum that I thought it a strange choice, given the play on words 'good profit'.
I don't think he/she liked that and posted a somewhat patronising reply directing me to a wikipedia article on 'Prophet'.
Now I see that all of the posts in the thread have been deleted.
I am not about to start a flame war or claim that his/her business is anything other than a fine, upstanding outfit. It has prompted me though into writing.

Following the flame wars that have erupted on here over what should have been minor, private or business issues, it seems clear that sometimes they are made worse merely by someone in a bad mood at that time who wants to have a rant. In no time it escalates into mob v mob but with no end result that is satisfactory to all.

I am not wearing a fanboy hat, or any other, but I'll relate my experience of dealing with customers from when I used to run my own business.
The majority of 'complaints' were about things beyond my control, such as slow shipping when I had posted an order within 2 hours of it being paid for only for the postal service to take over a week to deliver it, or receiving the wrong item even though their invoice which had been created by themselves clearly proved that they had made the mistake.
One of the most common complaints was that I had not replied to emails. This infuriated me as I always replied within 12 hours at the very most. I did some checking and found that a number of email programs/ISPs/antivirus software blocked my emails as 'junk' or 'spam' and sent them either to a separate folder on the PC or held them in quarantine in cyberspace. Even when I telephoned customers to explain this and helped them to change their settings so that they could receive my emails, some still insisted it was my fault for having a 'faulty' email address!!
The most common problem by far was with customers who had wrongly filled their details in on our website, mainly with an incorrect email address, so any emails I sent to them would not arrive but would either bounce back to me or just disappear. Some customers would not believe this even when I proved it to them so really I could not win and that is why suppliers have some sympathy from me as they have to deal with some complete ...... and are expected to be nice and smiley and bum-kissing all the way.
What would the reaction be if a supplier singled out a customer and attacked them on a forum such as this, calling them a liar etc?
Alan.
