Hoping I can get few more people to chime in here regarding their experience going from a heavy (2 packs a day or more) long term smoking to vaping.

Ive noticed a couple of changes resulting from switching over to vaping and am wondering if anyone else has noticed this as well. Pretty much all of my differences have been positive but I havent seen them posted anywhere so Im wondering if its just me.

Pain Tolerance: Ive noticed my tolerance for pain has went down in the past couple of months. My wife and son have always remarked before how I was able to handle extremely hot water or just shrug off injuries like they didnt happen. In all honestly I couldnt feel it before and think that long term smoking was causing nerve damage.

Now stuff actually hurts and I cant handle extremely hot water to wash dishes or take a turkish shower. I also get cold easier when before I couldnt feel it as much.

Sleeping: I now find that I get up before my wife almost every day when we get to bed at the same time when it used to be the reverse. I attribute this to my body not needing as much sleep to heal the damage I did to it smoking on a daily basis.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.Just wondering if anyone has noticed similar experiences to this?

Honestly, it's been 5 months since I quit smoking and I haven't noticed any changes other than I don't stink of smoke. I have to say, I didn't have any coughing or wheezing or anything like that before I quit. I also did not have any of the hacking up of stuff after I quit.

I ran 5K's with no problems and smoked well over 2 packs per day of Marlboro Lights. But, I also have to say that 2 years ago, I changed my diet to eat lean meat and lots of veggies and limited whole grains, fruits and good fats. That improved my health sooooo much, hence beginning to exercise and run 5K's. I had more overall energy, I slept better and for the first time in my life I woke up refreshed and don't even need an alarm clock. So, I'd have to say that mostly diet and some exercise did me a whole lot more good and perhaps if I have had any improvements, they are very slight in comparison.

Now, I also have to mention that when I started ecigs, I used 100% VG juice for the first month. Then, I tried PG/VG juices and my health took a dive. Through process of elimination over about 8 weeks, I found it was the PG affecting me negatively.

Sleeping: i sleep like a rock now.
Breathing: i can take deep deep breaths without any congestion sound.
Nose: my nose has cleared up considerably and I barely snore.
nails: to me my fingernails seem whiter and grow faster.
Energy: i seem to be able to keep going indefinitely even when lacking sleep.
Smell: i can smell everything even the lightest things i never could before.
Taste/appetite : some of my fav foods taste even better and i seem to get hungry sooner then i used to.

Even when excessively chain vaping the next day my throat feels fine, when smoking it took a few days to get rid of this feeling.

My boss(female) says my hair looks shinier and thicker (i have long hair) and my skin looks healthier.

I've noticed a few things since I quit smoking and started vaping. Initially..in the first weeks, I got a mouth sore that alarmed me, but I later found out that was "normal" with quitting tobacco and was a way the body was shedding toxins. It went away after a week or so. Then,in those early months I started with the insomnia thing. Figured out I was vaping to high nic...especially at night. Once I started using a more reasonable nic level things got better. Had some sinus problems (post nasal drip, etc.) that really upset me in those early months. Guess it was another "body shedding toxin" thing, or else a a really bad sinus infection that came along co-incidentally at the time. That cleared up.

Long term changes? I can smell things I never noticed before. And not all of it is pleasant. Some are wonderful...like newly mowed grass or the smell of rain. My sense of smell is much more keen. Cigarette smoke now is quite distasteful to me. I also started getting up earlier. As long as I can remember I've always been a late sleeper unless forced up earlier (growling and snarling) due to my job. Now I get up pretty early all the time...naturally and with no alarm. I also tend to want to go to bed a bit earlier, too! And that's really weird because I was always a night owl. I sleep more soundly now, too. I notice tastes much more now. Don't like quite as spicy as I used to. used to be I could eat near lava-hot stuff and think it was good....now I'm happier with a less violent tastes. Still like spice and things like jalapenos and such...just turn down the volume a bit. I notice when flavors "clash" too. Never did before that I remember.

I lost interest in drinking alcohol. I admit I used to imbibe a bit every day for years. I truly enjoyed drinking and considered my "cocktail hour" the highlight of my day. Now I don't give a flip about it and rarely have a half glass of wine (maybe for a "special occasion" is about all). As freaky as this is going to sound..a lot of it is because I don't like anything that interferes or "alters" the taste of my vape. My e-juice makes me VERY happy. I don't like things that make it taste "off". My previously favored recreational beverages tend to do that. So does Dr. Pepper, for that matter. So I avoid drinks that interfere with my vape because I like how happy I am vaping and don't want to mess it up! hahaha! If I do have a "celebratory drink"...I'll go brush my teeth afterward pretty quick!

Speaking of teeth..they are a LOT whiter now I don't smoke!

Oh yeah..I was struggling wiht high BP...now it's fine.

Lower blood pressure - 15 pt drop in both sys & dia
Higher O2 absorption - 92% to 98%
Healthier gums/whiter teeth - as per dentist
No more nose soot in the AM
No longer a mouth breather, although I have a deviated septum and narrow passages
No colds - used to get 'em twice a year that hung on. A couple of months ago I had a runny nose for three days... no cold. That would have developed into a major chest cold prior to vaping.
Higher sensitivity to the salt in processed foods. And to think I would add salt in my 'bakky days.
Higher IQ - hey, I did quit smoking!

Zapped, I was more than a pack a day for over twenty years and I haven't really noticed any changes in tolerance of pain over the last 7 months since switching to vaping.

Thrasher just reminded me that I often wake myself up with the slightest onset of my own snoring. But I don't recall that happening over the last 7 months. It could be my nasal passage is clearer now... OR, I'm just sleeping more soundly and don't notice that I still snore, lol.

+1 on not eating/drinking things that ruin my vape

i go for "vape compliments". for instance, i enjoy the vodka gimlet. and nothing goes better with a gimlet than my cirtus punch (from quick nic). its so dualy satisfying i cant even begin to quantify it.

and i absolutely love my gingerbread vape (from the vapor room) with a holiday style brew. mmmm

i could go on and on and on... :D

Now you are making me wish I liked the dessert and fruity vapes! I don't...but your combos sound GOOOD! There are only so many things that menthol is happy with when it comes to refreshments. Luckily Root Beer is one of them!

Hmmmmmmm , lets see . i haven't been doing this for very long but already i too feel the cold more now , we used to set our thermostat at 69 in the winter but now i gotta have 71 minimum .
I generaally feel much better , not stuffy or headachy when i wake in the morning , no grogginess during the day or when i wake .
The bonus is i drink quite a bit of water , something i didn't do before , thats gotta be a good thing , right ?
My mouth and breath feel fresher .
I love not having to go into the garage for a smoke when it's freezing cold out too.

I'm backwards then, lol. I vape unflavored so my vape doesn't interfere with my tastes and smells. I started vaping in the late winter, so I was really looking forward to smelling Springtime for the first time in 35 yrs.

My big reward is that my wife's Much happier after hearing me snore for 22 yrs. I even used to bother the kids in the other rooms, lol. Unfortunately, now we all know that my wife snore badly (sinus allergies), lol.

I am very happy I do not have to go outside to get my nicotine anymore.
My wife always hated my analog smoke breath but even on ecigs she always says my breath is nasty.
Just can't win! Coffee and vaping mix well. I hate when I eat foods and try to vape and I cannot taste anything except what I just ate. I constantly have to starve myself vaping until the last 10 minutes of my lunch break. Then I can eat!
