Changes TO the PS USBpass (PT) That You Would Like To See

I was going to buy one, until I researched the forum and learned the following from others on the forum:
1: People have said, that the atomizers come apart if they're screwed in too tight.
2: People said, the 801 atty's taste burnt, unless you use the RN4072 atty
3: People said the cord can rotate and the switch spins around, and if you're not careful, the switch can get stuck in the "on" position and burn up.
4: Many do not recommend using carts (filler), because it gets too hot they say

Again, these are only things people have said but I still want to buy one one day, but to be honest, these things scared me just a bit. enough that, I settled with a crappy $16 PT the has an attitude problem and works when and IF it wants to. Lol

The PS passthrough certainly looks to be very well made and maybe it's not the PT, maybe it's the users that have problems, but if I could have someone reassure me of these things, I might be more willing to try it for myself.

I have MS and 3 of my fingers are all crippled up (I still have thumb & forefinger :) but I also get tremor and also have a tendency to forget things, I just don't want to have to worry about switches getting stuck "on" or accidentally twitching my hand while when I screw the atty on and break it, or I'd l'd to be unable to use all the 801 atty's I already own if possible.

Plus I enjoy using the large 801 carts because they last for quite awhile and I don't have to drip or keep topping it off. But I guess, if I can't use a cart with it, and if it really has good flavor, like people claim, I could learn to drip and not use a cart, if it were really worth it. :)

I've probably visited PS website atleast 20+ times, over the past months, debating, looking, and researching, but end up being dissuaded by other users. Sorry...

1. This is correct. We have actually made a video on how to properly attach an atomizer found here:
PureSmoker.com - Home of the USA Built PV !!!

2. Hmmm... Go back and re-read the post where we just dealt with this. It mainly has to do with length of draw the user takes and amount of juice in the actual atomizer. Under load, the PS USBpass is only getting about .3 - .4v over what a normal 3.7v battery would give ya ...

3. This problem was fixed about 1 month in to production. The switches were then pinned so they could not rotate. The redesign, which should be released in the next few weeks, will carry the same 3 piece design as the Protege, so spinnage will never occur either which way :)

4. Again ... Our PT is really only putting out .3-.4v MORE than any standard ecig battery. There are some people that successfully use cartridges at 5v and 6v ... So, I'm sure, 4.2-4.3v is a cinche ... but, for the record ... I believe dripping is the best thing used on any device at any time under any circumstance :)

Just like all new devices MickiO ... there is a learning curve :)

hope that helps!

Why have a Cord at all??? Almost everyone who owns a computer owns a USB cord...all you really need is a Female USB(B Style) adapter on the end and you'll never have to worry about the cord again

We were thinking about doing this .... USB (large female) wouldn't fit the circumference of the tube ... so we were thinking mini USB ... problem being, I can't find anything under 24AWG which just won't cut it ....

Yeah you will be fine with 6v if you wanna go that high, that should put you at a little over 5v under load, should be similar to a prodigy.

Gibby

I was thinking 3.7, 4.8, 5.8 just to be on the safe side.. gathering the parts as we speak and will be ordering the PT on friday.

nevermind....

You had a very intelligent post Ride ... No need to edit :)

We did test loaded voltages! I posted the results in another thread here.

Here were the results:
CaSH said:
PS USBpass PT (20g Wire -- 6ft) <-- Standard USBpass From PureSmoker
At Atomizer -- 5.07v
Under Load (True Voltage) -- 4.28v

PS USBpass PT (24g Wire -- 3ft long) [One of original Prototypes -- Only a couple sold to those who wanted]
At Atomizer -- 5.07v
Under Load (True Voltage) -- 4.03v

As you can clearly see ... voltage dropped even with a 3ft. long cord. Couldn't even imagine if someone had a 26/28g USB cable they were using at more than 4-5 ft. :)
