Chantix Commercial....

I just saw another Chantix commercial and I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.......a list of side effects a mile long, possibly lethal - but hey let's ban e-cigs - THEY COULD KILL PEOPLE - thank you FDA our tax dollars at work - I WILL NOT give up my e-cig - I rarely even use the nicotine anymore - I can mix my own juice and I will stock up on batts, cartos, attys etc. This is really ridiculous - but then again - when in the last 60 years or so has our government made sense - if only we could get Obama to use an e-cig we might all be saved!

Funny thing is I did Chantix, 4 times. Was working on my 5th when I found vaping. Chantix does work for some people. Only side effect I had was the dreams. Made them really vivid.

My issue, get stressed, get bored, gotta smoke. I really, really, really enjoy smoking. Unfortunately, or fortunately (not sure yet), I had a heart attack on Thanksgiving last year at the age of 42. Along with diabetes and other stuff going on I knew that smoking really needed to go. I did quit for January and February this year using Chantix. But, I have a boss I can't stand and got stressed so I picked up a pack and started again. So for me vaping competely fits the bill. Get nic, get to 'smoke' without all the other junk. I even got the OK from my Dr!

Guess I am just saying for all the products to quit smoking on the market most of them do work for people. Some of us have been luckier to find a replacement habit rather then having to give up something we liked.

I am so sorry to hear about your heart attack - I hope you are recovering quickly! I completely get what you are saying, but there are so many limitations - I have a severe kidney disease and depression so I couldn't even consider Chantix - I just have issue with the FDA pushing thru drugs for Big Pharm then ending up finding out they have even more serious side effects than originally thought - yet they are fighting even testing e-cigs tooth and nail - I just hate it when money means more than peoples health - I think any way that people have found to quit, cut back etc. is good - everyone is different! I used every excuse in the book about why I smoked when the truth is I LOVE IT, I didn't want to quit. I would think about my next cigarette while I was still smoking one. I would plan my day around cigarette breaks and God help anyone around me if I ran out - lol! I love that I can get the same satisfaction from vaping - I actually enjoy it more! I just wish everyone had the chance to try it and I pray the FDA does not get their way!

That stuff SCARES me.. I smoke/vape to relieve stress. The gum helped me to quit for about 3 mo.s; then started back on the stinkies. I've been sucking some 'noSmokes' I
got off craigslist and they have helped. now waiting for my TastyVapor order so I can
enjoy vaping ..I'm getting atomic cynicide and tobacco juices w/doublers, a 510 kit,
an ego 900mha battery w/tube + charger, some carts + mix bottles at a great price.

I keep seeing that commercial too, almost daily. I've heard it so many times that I'm experiencing another non-mentioned side effect of talking back to the dang commercial.

bex88 - I am recovering fine. They only had to put a stint in. Lucky for me!
I agree about the drug companies. I don't think they should be able to advertise on TV. Too many kids get ideas from the tube, that was what they stated when they banned Liqour ads on TV many years ago. Although I see that has gone to the wayside too. The commercials that really bug me are the ones for ED. Really??? do we all need to know? Price we pay for free enterprise I guess. So I just elect not to watch by either changing channels or going to another room.
